It sounds simple to just swap the letters around. But its actually quite difficult when you try.

Au Contraire' Mon Herr

It would be a cinch. A computer could run every possible substitution on, say, a sentence and then match it with a computerized copy of the bible or whatever you say is encoded. It would then quickly reject the many mismatches until it found that sentence intact. Then to verify your theory you would use the substitution that was successful on the next sentence and of course it would match as well if what you say is true. Todays supercomputers at Lawrence Livermore can do 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 instructions per second so it shouldn't take too long at all. It would be a rather simple program at that.

You of course would have to specify which language that you found this remarkable discovery.

Early accounts of the Bible were written in Greek. I presume you are talking about the New Testiment.

Daddio,
Therein lies the problem. Do you happen to have the phone number of Lawrence Livermore labs and I will just give them a quick call.

This is what I will say to them;
"Hi Guys. I was hanging out on an Extraterrestrial Alien hunting forum and I accidently found God. So would you guys mind if I use your billion dollar computer to search the human genome to see if I can find messages from God."

Yep, i'm pretty sure the guys at Lawrence Livermore Labs would just love to help me. Or more likely, they would try to put a straight-jacket on me and get me locked up.

you need one of the hand-written originals

As I pointed out by linking you to Bart Ehrman's research, there are no original texts. Only copies of copies, and they were changing constantly.

I know you only looked at two minutes of each video, so you didn't get the evidence. This is true for both the old and new testaments. Bart looked at the oldest texts in existence, then the newer ones to develop a time line of what was added and when. Many times he can even explain why.

The Old Testament had at least 40 different authors, and was written over 1600 years. The new testament had thousands of authors, and evolved as church leaders tried to explain the inconsistencies and differences. It didn't even become a Bible until about 300 years after the time Jesus was alive.

There was so much evidence you passed up, because you only saw two minutes of each video, and decided you didn't like what you heard.

Steve,
I know that you are personally following a particular line of inquiry in your own Bible research. But Steve, i'm doing something very different to you, and its very different to Bart Ehrman. I tried to explain it to you, but I think you kind of breezed over the post I made and didn't really understand the importance of what I had written.

However, thank you Steve. Yes, I agree that Bart Ehrman's work is indeed very interesting. Its just different to what I am doing.

As a matter of fact. One of my old Irish Girlfriends from 45 years ago married a Livermore scientist. Mary Agnes McMahon (Nee O'Brien). So call Frank McMahon at Livermore and tell him that you met a former admirer of his wife and see if he will help you out. I would venture to say that you can find other super computers as well. Probably some there in the Emerald Isle.

In the US 925-422-1100 is the main operator. I don't know if Frank still works there, but I still think that they live in Livermore California. I used to canoe on the lake there 30 years ago.

OK. Let me be a bit more direct. By understanding how the Bible got here and why, what it says, and how it contradicts itself, it makes decoding human DNA from such a questionable source, impossible except in your own mind.

You know, we won't have to wait too long more before someone cracks the human genome code wide open.

In September 2012, the "ENCODE Project" published there most recent results and they categorised approximately 80% of the human genome as having a particular function. They published there results in Nature Journal. Read the Wikipedia page about it here;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENCODE

That was 2 years ago that the ENCODE project published their results. Right now today, there are currently tens of thousands of hospitals, research institutes and universities carrying out genetics research. And they are all chasing the big prize - That is, to crack the code wide open. Nobel Prizes for the winners, so lots of scientists are chasing that prize!!

They are picking away at it, bit by bit, finding out what all the bits of code do in the human genome. And everybody is still puzzled by just how complex the whole thing really is. Its almost as complex as.......well......Its almost as complex as the Christian Bible! Hmmmmmm... could that be it? Never! Maybe?

But it will happen very quickly, all of a sudden, out of the blue, some clever guy will crack the code. He will figure out that there is a pattern to the whole thing. And he will figure out that you have to swap the letters around and you can read the code, just like you read a book.

We are very close now. We won't have to wait too long more. Then it will all be over. And everyone will know who and what God really is!! When you read the Bible, your reading part of the human genome. Your reading your own DNA code when you read the Bible! Jesus Christ is coming back real soon! Hold on tight, he's commin! Judgement Day, for all!! Biblical justice!

It occurred to me that my son, Bubba, could help you along with your quest. He is very much attuned to the DNA thing. You maybe could find him in Santa Fe, New Mexico

I think your son Bubba should consider a change of career. Would he be interested in getting involved in the Shrimp business?

Johnney Guinness said: Its not just the Christian Bible that is in your DNA, also the whole of Greek History, Roman History, Jewish History, Arabic History, Chinese History, British history, German history, Japanese history, Korean history, they are all in there!! The history of every single nation on earth, written in your DNA, all written by God himself.

If this is true, you should have no problem correcting the egregious error in your original post by providing supporting information from a peer-reviewed scientific journal such as Cell or Nature.

Let's see if we can possibly sort out the contradictions between just a few quotes from Johnny Guiness.
1. Its NOT the word of "God", its words written by Flesh and blood human beings.
2. do you remember me posting a topic here before about Monks in a Monastery down in Israel a year or two ago, and I said that these people actually ARE God!!
3. Its the Monks in the Monasteries that created us!
4. Are you disappointed to find out in the end that you were created by God, the Lord of all Heaven and Earth?

Quote 1 says the Bible was written by cloistered humans, but quote 2 says these humans are God. Both can't be true.
Quote 3 says monks created humans, but quote 4 says God created everything. Oy.

And today, I can't even finish reading the Book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible.

So how can you claim to know the Bible (let alone all the other histories listed above) is encoded in our DNA? (BTW, many people including myself have not been able to finish even the first book, but mainly because God is an extraordinarily bad writer: repetitive, turgid, contradictory, etc.)

Only someone that really wants to know about God will dive in deep into that book.

Obviously Johnney Guinness has no such desire since he hasn't read even 1/66th of it.

So I have a real problem reading books.

Sorry, but that is evident... You should seriously consider reading some brief articles on "confirmation bias" and "apophenia".

Anyway, thanks to all for a very entertaining thread! 8^ O

Hi LanDroid,
The first post in this thread is a reference to an article on a spoof website. I didn't write the article, i'm just here discussing it.

And as I have said to many people here on these forums, i'm not an academic and I have never published any of my own work anywhere, except by posting it in messages on this forum.

LanDroid,
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying!! That is the very point that I am making, which is, that "God" actually is human beings. God actually is a group of "people". And those people, in effect, they reset the clock on humanity by creating a brand new "Adam and Eve" down in Iraq 6000 years ago! And they are still with us today. Monks who live in monistaries down in Israel "created" your ancestors and my ancestors, Adam and Eve, 6000 years ago. In short - "God" is "People", many of them, several million of them.

And today, I can't even finish reading the Book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible.

LanDroid,
I never said that I don't read the Bible. I do read the Bible, and I know the book quite well. I said that I haven't read "all of the Bible". I go into the Bible and read the bits I need to read. I read the parts of the Bible that are part of my research. But it doesn't mean that I have to read the full book to answer the questions that I needed answers to. In total, so far to date, I have read roughly about a quarter of the Bible. And as we speak, and over the coming months, I will be completing my first full reading of the entire book. But I don't actually need to read the whole entire Bible to complete my research. But I have set it as one of my goals to read the full book anyway.

The vast majority of my research is on "other books", not the Bible itself. And its these "other books" that led me to the conclusions I have posted in this thread.
