For use on a lathe? - generally I would say no, but it could be used on certain attachment for a hobby lathe. I have a feeling it is used on a tool that might be used to sharpen the knife. (and no, I can't play at the moment). BOINC WIKI |

Okay... resurfacing another tool... sharpening a blade perhaps? Suggestion: The person who gives the name of the tool being resurfaced or a much more exact name of the tool shown wins. (Not me, I only have a couple of days before I won't be able to play for over a week.) BOINC WIKI |

I thought we were close to getting an answer, but it seems that the people who know are not playing. I will call it tomorrow morning if no one is going to play. . A person who makes no mistakes, creates nothing. |

At last we have winner. The title for this tool is Multi Point Diamond Wheel Dresser and used to clean and true up grinding wheels. PM on it way. PS. The dresser in your link seems expensive, I only paid £8.24 for mine. . A person who makes no mistakes, creates nothing. |

Thanks Lynn! Pulling my hair out on that one. :-) Well done CC :) Had no idea what it was even though I'd kind of guessed what could be done with it :) Okay - reminds me of a tilting table, possibly used for decorating cakes, but it should really revolve too, so probably isn't... |

Is that some form of cutting mat on the top, or a non slip surface? And are we allowed to ask two questions at once? :) Or three as in this instance. |

I dimly recall some sort of viscosity test where you poured the tested substance on to a titled surface and then timed it running down. Or something like that. Since we have not had a judges' ruling on two questions, my other theory is that it is some sort of work stand. You put whatever on it while you do something or the other to it. |

Something for exercising the calf muscles - or avoiding DVT on long flights? (I'm coming to realise I ask quite a lot of either/or questions. Is this a good or a bad thing? :)) |

For model constructing? Glueing, painting, that kind of thing? |

... or for tilting a book? Not exactly a stand (like for recipe books) but more like a... um... jack...? Bookjack... is that a thing? :) |

Um... still on the book theme, I've been thinking... the book would slide off wouldn't it, which would make it REAlly annoying as a reading aid... and perched on your lap, would probably cut off circulation to your feet... But I suppose it could be useful for repairing books... No idea what you would call it though... Book Restoration Platform? |

We have a winner! After doing a bit of research I came across a picture of it being used :) It was just... there... on my screen! :) must say if I'd had one and used it, I would most definitely have used it wrong :)))) Will get a pic up that will hopefully not be too easy for all you tool experts :) |
