Here's a very creative way that has trumped the Trump censorship (of funding) for anything that might avert the USA industrial pollution:

Through many dangers, toils and snares.... SpaceX to send amazing GRACE to spaaaaace

Because ride-sharing is caring, SpaceX will send the next batch of Iridium NEXT satellites into orbit along with a pair of NASA gravity monitoring orbiters, GRACE-FO...

... the SpaceX second-stage booster will fire until 11 minutes and 33 seconds into the flight, when NASA’s GRACE-FO spacecraft will be [jettisoned] deployed.

(The second stage rocket will then shut down and coast until a little under an hour after liftoff, when the engine will be restarted for a quick burn prior to the five NEXT communications satellites being ejected, as Iridium continues upgrading its constellation...)

... Scientists are keen to keep collecting this data even after the original 15 years of GRACE. While sea-level rises have been tracked very accurately over the years, the additional data allows the boffins to separate rises due to melting ice flowing into the ocean from land versus expansion of seawater as it warms...

How crazy is that?!

All on our only one planet,
Martin

EU Proposes a Total Ban on Plastic Forks and Other Products.

The European Commission proposed a total ban on some single-use plastic products and measures to drastically cut the consumption of others, in the latest push by the EU to reduce carbon emissions and marine litter threatening its seas.

The ban will apply to plastic cotton buds, cutlery, plates, straws, drink stirrers and sticks for balloons, according to the proposal unveiled on Monday and is subject to approval by EU governments and the European Parliament. Member states will also be forced to reduce the use of plastic food containers and drink cups by prohibiting their free-of-charge distribution.

“Plastic can be fantastic but we need to use it more responsibly,” Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen said in a statement. “Today’s proposals will help business and consumers to move towards sustainable alternatives.”
Cheers.

Here's hoping this has an effect on company bosses.
Investor LGIM seeks removal of eight company chairs over climate change inaction

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain’s biggest asset manager wants to remove the chairmen of the board at eight companies worldwide, which it says have failed to confront the threats posed by climate change.

Legal & General Investment Management, the fund arm of insurer Legal & General (LGEN.L), has been among the most vocal asset managers on the topic, recently writing to some of the world’s top companies calling for more action.

On Monday, it said it would vote against the chairs of China Construction Bank (601939.SS), Dominion Energy (D.N) and Japan Post Holdings (6178.T), as well as Occidental Petroleum (OXY.N), Rosneft Oil (ROSN.MM) and Subaru (7270.T). The other two companies on its list were Loblaw Companies (L.TO) and Sysco Corp (SYY.N).

As well as demanding the removal of the companies’ chairmen, LGIM also said it would sell any shares of the eight companies held in its 5 billion pounds Future World Funds index funds range.

After spending a year engaging with 84 of the world’s biggest firms over their climate strategies, LGIM, which manages nearly 1 trillion pounds in assets, said some were not doing enough to prepare for a low-carbon economy.

While some companies were “excelling”, others were “failing to do the bare minimum”, with a number not even responding to requests to engage, LGIM said.

“We’re going to keep ratcheting up the minimum standards and our expectations from the companies; it’s not a finished business,” said Meryam Omi, head of sustainability and responsible investment strategy at LGIM.

Here is the deal.
To refrain from giving birth to a child is the single biggest climate effort a person can do, far greater than quitting flying or quitting eating meat. Each unborn individual implies less pressure on the planet. All according to a study by researchers Kimberly Nichols and Seth Wynes at Lund University and the University of Vancouver.
They base their analysis on the fact that every person in the West generates an average of 58.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year (it includes not only individual emissions but also the individual's share of society's emissions).
They also recommend giving up the car, avoiding air travel and eating vegetarian but emphasizing that there are small measures compared to refraining from bringing a child to the world. These are examples of extreme, individualistic solutions, despite the fact that the climate crisis is largely a collective crisis. In an era of individualism and consumption culture, the responsibility for the climate crisis is increasingly on the shoulders of private individuals.

Yep. All hail mass murdering and enslaving Mao's One-Child Policy.
Eh?
There are already too many people here that our earth can support in the long run.
Something has to be changed. But what?
But who support mass murdering to solve the problem?
No. I agree with George Mann from the article "I do not understand why it would be unethical to ask how people think when they get a fourth child. If many resigned, it would have a significant positive climate impact "..

Yep. All hail mass murdering and enslaving Mao's One-Child Policy.

Given that the article suggested avoiding having children as a personal decision only, this makes about as much sense as stating you are "hailing murdering and enslaving Mao's Enforced State Atheism Policy" (which still exists) by being a (self-identified) atheist. But, anything to slip that phrase in wherever possible... sigh.

Of course you can. All you need is a vaccum cleaner.
Video:) https://www.svt.se/nyheter/vetenskap/kan-man-dammsuga-upp-koldioxid
Oh. what powers a vaccum cleaner?
Hehe:) There are of course other ways but all those methods require energy.
All methods? No, actually there is a method utilized for hundred of millions year here on earth.
It's called Photosynthesis:)
Or else you can dump your CO2 waste back into to the ground.
Like Norway perhaps will do soon.

Climate change: Where we are in seven charts and what you can do to help - December 2, 2018
https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-46384067

"The UN has warned the 2015 Paris accord's goal of limiting global warming to "well below 2C above pre-industrial levels" is in danger because major economies, including the US and the EU, are falling short of their pledges.

But scientists at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - the leading international body on global warming - last month argued the 2C Paris pledge didn't go far enough. The global average temperature rise actually needed to be kept below 1.5C, they said. So how warm has the world got and what can we do about it?"

The production of concrete is one of the biggest CO2 polluters in the world. Here's hoping this technology works.
Betting on a new way to make concrete that doesn’t pollute

Yes. Norse power:)
However I would say only a small part of a solution.
The Norsepower rotor aka Flettner rotor can save up to 20% fuel under good conditions and just over 5% annually.
https://www.maritime-executive.com/article/viking-line-installs-rotor-sail-on-cruise-ferry
Fuel savings when using air lubrication seems to be about 5% to 12%
