We're having some problems here.

How hard would it be for you and the others developers to implement some sort of 'identity history', so that for instance, clicking on a users name would reveal the last 3 or so identities that that user had used, and when they were changed?

The reason for asking being that perhaps this could go some way towards exposing all this character impersonation that seems to be happening at the moment.

Getting back on topic: How about using the MAC on the host/router as an identification method?

I've gone ahead and added the user id to the signature block so you'll know if it was a different account that posted a message from the account you expected it to be.

For instance, If somebody posts a message with my name, they won't have my ID which is 85465.

Well, it just goes to show, you can't make anyone happy....

But I would think that the name history on the Account Profile page would be a nice touch ... THough you would need to have some sort of filter on it so that a person just did not make 3 sudden changes in a row ...

Maybe, a 2-weeks to a month delay between changes?
