Sorry Speedy, it wasn't meant as a correction or a barb. It made me smile and I enjoyed the thought of S@H specific word usage. I thought others might find the concept as novel as I did. And if so, you will be the one that set it off! Good on 'ya. Member of the 20 Year Club ![]() ![]() |

I was just looking at the tapes that are loaded on the SSP and thought they must be cleaning out old tapes because the tape labelled 9th of April 2009 aa is only 3.89 GB verse the smallest tape I have seen in a long time. The tape has already had its Astropulse work units splat That approximately 7 minutes of recording is being split for SaH v7 now, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1480255790 for example. Your guess in a later post that they might be shorties was correct, that one has AR 8.34 but I didn't search for others. Joe |

One question how can you tell that the AR of task you linked to above is 8.34 since the work unit hasn't been sent? At the time I write this ![]() |

I downloaded the WU and looked within it to see if there was anything peculiar, it seems fine. Basically, that's the same thing we do when investigating inconclusive validations or other issues which might be related to the content of a particular WU. Joe |

This seems like a very long run with the Astropulses (not that I mind)or is it my imagination? |

This seems like a very long run with the Astropulses (not that I mind)or is it my imagination? I don't think it is your imagination. When these units run out I think there will be a long dry spell before more are loaded. We will have to wait and see. I don't mind either I like the longer running work units it is better credit wise @Joe thanks for your explanation in regards to the short tape ![]() |

This seems like a very long run with the Astropulses (not that I mind)or is it my imagination? Think it's a combination of: 1) Before they mounted new tapes, the remaining to be split was a pretty low number. 2) They mounted some additional tapes for the Holiday weekend. Has been a nice run. This seems like a very long run with the Astropulses (not that I mind)or is it my imagination? But all good things must come to an end and when this run of astropulses does we are all going to go hungry for a very long time. Still,we do my Einstein RAC some good. ![]() |

This seems like a very long run with the Astropulses (not that I mind)or is it my imagination? Yes, it was very nice to have such a supply of APs for the weekend. My cruncher is very fat and happy with the outcome and my RAC has been climbing very nicely. |

Uploads? What happened? Looks like someone is downloading APs to the server and it killed the Uploads... Nice, looks like they fixed it.....for now. |

This (downloading) seems to happen periodically; I believe new "tapes" are being transferred to the server complex via the higher b/w pipe. It was impractical before, but since the move to the gigabit pipe, it can be done this way rather than by sneakernet, or whatever they used before the move. |

I would agree with that, but the Cricket graph shows 15 hours of download followed by 13 hours of upload. New tapes wouldn't cause that pattern to appear, would they? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Looking at recent activity, it would seem the blue spikes occur around the same time as the AP availability. Bring on the APs, OSX has been out for over a day. |

Been seeing some resends of APs over the last 2 days. Mostly time outs. Wouldn't mind some fresh APs to crunch. Almost out for my CPU on 1 machine, the others ran dry days ago. Probably tomorrow when it runs dry. :( |
