Greetings! Since this is the wish list, and I'm pretty sure this doesn't exist, I thought I'd plop it down here. I'm a long-time casual user and 211,005 SETI credit. I recently discovered that I have a shortage of volunteer (community service) hours to be allowed to wear a volunteer service cord at my university graduation. I suddenly wondered if there was a precedent for having some of these CPU hours vetted. Our university uses Noblehour to log hours, and credits must be verified by someone that can verify my participation in volunteer/community activities (through email). Has anyone heard/seen of something like this being done? It almost seems a shame that we can subtly do so much for science but cannot seem to "count" it. Comments most appreciated! Normally, service hours are hours that you personally spend doing something. Perhaps fixing a bug or two? BOINC WIKI |
