Message 1492615 - Posted: 21 Mar 2014, 10:25:01 UTC

Hi Guys,

I don't know if I am posting in the correct sections

I'm pretty new to Seti@home but I am very eager to get some more work processed.

On my mobile there is work to do but on my laptop nothing is being found.

I keep receiving the message: No Work available to Process

Any ideas?

This is the right place for your question.

Can you please post the first 30-40 lines from the startup messages from BOINC manager in Advanced->Event Log? That will give our resident gurus some info to go on.

Welcome to the project and the forums!

Looks like the laptop received some gpu work just about the time you posted and some cpu work 5 minutes later. Do you still have questions?

Are you set to accept any task both GPU and CPU? We are out of AP and from what I read it could be a long time before we get more.

Seeing as Gareth has 39 Multibeam tasks in progress now, split between CPU and GPU, I'd say that he just wasn't patient enough and his 1st requests were probably at times that the feeder was empty.

Cheers.

Because they are in high demand these days.
And because there are no AP datasets in view to split anytime soon.
You might hit on a few resends, but that is all that is in sight for a week or so unless more is loaded to split.

Juan, please stop reading my posts. You don't seem to be able to follow my humor anyway, so why don't you put me on ignore. That way you don't have to worry about anything I write. I'll put you on ignore as well, so I don't have to read any of your 'answers' anymore either.

Hey....
Don't bash Juan please. English is a second language for him. So some subtle nuances might escape, you see.
BTW, I did not get your 'humor' in that post either.
I have 369 out of a possible 1800 APs in play here myself.
Most are on the CPUs, as the GPUs ran them all up a while ago.

No need to recycle anything, Juan.
You express your thoughts quite well enough.
Anybody at all who wants to hear what you are saying can do so without a problem.

You are quite fine, my friend.

Why are AP's so hit and miss????

For a number of reasons, including:
There are fewer of them produced from a data "tape".
They are produced faster, despite their larger size they are easier to produce.
Third there are a number of people who target them as they pay better.

Why are AP's so hit and miss????...

... there are a number of people who target them as they pay better.

The people who have built mini supercomputers prefer AP WU; some can crunch 350 or more a day. Then there are the hoards who can build a 1000 AP WU caché.
