Even though I will most likely never be a passenger on an over water flight again I think that if I did take a trip abroad it would be on a US carrier with no muslims in the crew. That pilot waited a very long time to make his mark in the terrorist world.

Suicide by pilot?

Malaysia confirms MH370 route was on pilot's simulator

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Malaysia acknowledged for the first time that one of the pilots of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 had plotted a course on his home flight simulator to the southern Indian Ocean, where the missing jet is believed to have crashed.

Australian officials overseeing the search for the plane last month said data recovered from Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah's simulator included a flight path to the southern Indian Ocean. Malaysian officials at the time refused to confirm the findings.

Debris sparks MH370 plane crash theory

TWISTED debris, possibly from doomed flight MH370, has been found off the coast of Mozambique.

The sighting has sparked the theory the plane exploded before it crashed, reports The Sun.

Previously it was assumed it had been under pilots control when it plunged into the sea.

A South African tour operator claims to have found a large piece of the missing plane.

Tour operator Jean Viljoen said he had given the piece of wreckage to local police who were investigating.

MH370 search: Tanzania debris 'part of missing plane'

A large item of debris found off the coast of Tanzania belongs to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, Australian investigators say.

The fragment, said to be the inboard section of the right, outboard flap of the plane, was recovered in June.

MH370, flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, had 239 people on board when it vanished in March 2014.

The Boeing 777 is presumed to have crashed into the southern Indian Ocean after veering off course.

New MH370 report says plane crashed into ocean at high speed

The Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that disappeared nearly three years ago with 239 people on board crashed into the Indian Ocean at high speed rather than gliding down gently, an analysis of the debris found.

It's just another unlikely theory and unfortunately we will probably never know all the facts of this disappearance.

MH370 search teams may be looking in wrong area

The doomed Malaysian Airlines jet that disappeared over the Indian Ocean almost three years ago probably isn't anywhere in the vast area designated as the primary search zone, experts said Tuesday.

And a new area where Flight 370 most likely crashed may never be searched.

"We will be suspending the search unless credible evidence is available that identifies the specific location of the aircraft," said Darren Chester, Australia's Minister for Infrastructure and Transport. Australia took control of the search at the request of Malaysian officials.

MH370 Found? Searchers Race to New Site

The Daily Beast has learned that in the final days of the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, the search vessel scouring the depths of the Indian Ocean has suddenly moved at high speed to a new location more than 200 miles north. The site is close to an area that experts have recently identified as far more likely to contain the remains of the Boeing 777.

The Dutch-owned vessel Equator is using an autonomous underwater vehicle in a pattern of maneuvers near the seabed similar to that used on two previous occasions when significantly large objects were identified. Both of these turned out to be shipwrecks.

MH370: Search suspended but future hunt for missing plane not ruled out

Hong Kong (CNN)Officials involved in the arduous search for Malayasia Airlines Flight 370 won't rule out another hunt for the plane if "credible" evidence emerges, Australia's transport minister said Wednesday.

"It's not a closed book by any stretch," Darren Chester said at a news briefing in Melbourne. "I don't rule out a future underwater search."

The UK Guardian gives a very good summing up of the search:

Why hasn't MH370 been found?

Australia’s multimillion-dollar search effort for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight ‘tested the limits of human endeavour’ – and failed. Where did it go wrong?

There's some rather interesting clues in there...

Keep searchin',

MH370: Here's what's been found from jetliner 3 years after it disappeared

(CNN)Three years after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished with 239 people aboard, one of the world's biggest aviation mysteries remains unsolved.
Searchers have found debris in the Indian Ocean believed to be from the doomed airliner that disappeared on March 8, 2014. They have confirmed three pieces as certainly from the plane, while five others remain highly likely but inconclusive.

Click on CNN link to see debris found.
I hope Boeing will take over the search.

I hope Boeing will take over the search.

It's also getting close to that time of year again Lynn where that particular area of the Indian Ocean gets very inhospitable. ;-)

Cheers.

MH370: New analysis reiterates plane's likely location
Analysing drift modelling of a real Boeing 777 wing part for the first time, scientists backed a December report about MH370's likely location.

That location is an area of approximately 25,000 sq km (9,700 sq miles) lying north of the earlier search zone in the southern Indian Ocean.

"Testing an actual flaperon [wing part] has added an extra level of assurance to the findings from our earlier drift modelling work," said Dr David Griffin, from Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

"We've found that an actual flaperon goes about 20 degrees to the left, and faster than the replicas, as we thought it might," Dr Griffin said.

"The arrival of MH370's flaperon at La Reunion in July 2015 now makes perfect sense."
