Hello, I wanted to try and place a new GPU in my current computer to see how it would work compared to my other GPUS in there. I added a GTX 750 ti via a PCI riser to the MB. I have 2 GTX 650 ti in the PCI-16 slots. I added a cc_config file to Setiathome.berkeley.edu folder to try and use all 3 cards. So I have cc-config.xml, app_info.xml and app_config.xml When I go to launch Bonic it tells me that it's ignoring the 2 GTX 650s and only using the 750 due to configuration. any thoughts? I'll post the cc_config and app_config along with the first 20 lines from the advance cc_config.xml <cc_config> <options> <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> </options> </cc_config> the app_config.xml <app_config> <app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>setiathome_v7</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app_config> Here is the Event Log 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.42 for windows_x86_64 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Libraries: libcurl/7.25.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1 zlib/1.2.6 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0 (not used): GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST (driver version 335.23, CUDA version 6.0, compute capability 3.0, 1024MB, 936MB available, 1586 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 1 (not used): GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST (driver version 335.23, CUDA version 6.0, compute capability 3.0, 1024MB, 951MB available, 1586 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 2: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 335.23, CUDA version 6.0, compute capability 5.0, 2048MB, 1948MB available, 2082 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0 (ignored by config): GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST (driver version 335.23, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 1024MB, 936MB available, 1586 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 1 (ignored by config): GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST (driver version 335.23, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 1024MB, 951MB available, 1586 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 2: GeForce GTX 750 Ti (driver version 335.23, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 2048MB, 1948MB available, 2082 GFLOPS peak) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | SETI@home | Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Processor: 4 AuthenticAMD AMD FX(tm)-4130 Quad-Core Processor [Family 21 Model 1 Stepping 2] 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 htt pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt aes syscall nx lm svm sse4a osvw ibs xop skinit wdt lwp fma4 topx page1gb rdtscp 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Professional x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Memory: 15.97 GB physical, 31.93 GB virtual 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Disk: 465.66 GB total, 401.22 GB free 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Local time is UTC -5 hours 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | SETI@home | Found app_config.xml 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | SETI@home | URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 7168555; resource share 100 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | SETI@home | General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 08-Dec-2013 19:43:06) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | SETI@home | Computer location: work 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | General prefs: using separate prefs for work 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Reading preferences override file 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Preferences: 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | max memory usage when active: 8174.34MB 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | max memory usage when idle: 14713.82MB 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | max disk usage: 402.10GB 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | don't use GPU while active 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 25% 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 3/14/2014 8:56:08 AM | | Not using a proxy 3/14/2014 8:56:10 AM | | Suspending computation - user request Any Ideas? |

Here is the Event Log Do you have the cc_config.xml file in the top level BOINC data directory? It goes there, not in the project's directory where you have the other two files. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. ![]() |

Check if the cc_config.xml is in the right directory (in your case: C:\ProgramData\BOINC) If is and if you use the notepath to edit the cc_config.xml you need to check if you save with the right name, notepath actualy adds ".txt" at the end of the file name by defoult. ![]() |

or see my post on how to get boinc to dump a full cc_config.xml into the right place. the cc_config needs to be in the same folder as client_state.xml when you have the file, right-click it and choose 'edit' this will open it in notepad (as opposed to just clicking which will open an xml editor and mess things up) find the right option and change to 1 A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. Here is the Event Log Thank you Fred. That was the piece I was missing. I didn't know it wasn't supposed to be in the same folder as those other 2. Moved it as you suggested and restarted. (by the way I use Windows 7 in case anyone was interested) Got all 3 GPUs up and running. Woot!! Now to see how it handles. Thanks Again. Zalster |

Hello ! 1 line is (was) missing : </app> in the second part ;) Kind Regards, Philippe <app_config> <app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>setiathome_v7</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config> |

Always best to use indenting, as in the examples in the documentation. <app_config> <app> <name>astropulse_v6</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> <app> <name>setiathome_v7</name> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>0.5</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config> |

Thanks to everyone for all the different inputs. Got it working, all 3 GPUs crunching away happily. Moving it to the right folder did the trick. May look at modifying it more as suggested but for now, it works..So as they say (if it works, don't mess with it!@! LOL) Zalster |

LOL) The app_config.xml file with the missing line will work for Astropulse but the S@H V7 segment will be ignored due to the missing line. You'll see that when you get some v7 gpu tasks.
