Sorry, Richard you are dealing with a total illiterate in computers, but I think I have pasted it in the same place where yours is. That's OK, I've done this sort of thing over the telephone as well, as you can probably guess. OK, leave the BOINC folder open - well be coming back to that later. Close Documents if you like. Open BOINC Manager, and switch to 'Advanced' view if it isn't already. On the 'Advanced' menu, choose "Read config files". Open the Event Log, and you should see the 'Work fetch debug' we've been looking for. ID: 1488430 · |

I see that yours is 5kb while mine is 1kb. Size doesn't matter in this case - William can tell you how to get a bigger one later. But if the Name is exactly the same, and the Type is exactly the same, it should have been found. ID: 1488442 · |

How do I if I need to change it to XML? Right-click, Edit. 'Save As....' Change the 'Save as type' from "Text Documents" to "All files" (that's the bit you missed) Remove any '.txt' that might have appeared after 'cc_config.xml' in the File Name box. Save ID: 1488446 · |

Can i give you both a hand? Just DL this file to your Boinc Data directory, the one pointed by Richard on a previous post - C:\ProgramData\BOINC\ https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=717A9F110977A829!4897&authkey=!APff4LalnUX09rA&ithint=file%2c.xml But be aware SETI is down.
