After you have run the Installer and Installed the CUDA_42 App, Please Post the contents of the new app_info.xml here.

SETI@home v7 Anonymous platform (NVIDIA GPU) means it's the optimized version.

Thank you again! Can you tell a difference in the two apps?

Right now there is very little performance difference between Stock & Lunatics CUDA Apps. The biggest difference is you can choose which App to use when using the Lunatics Installer. It appears all the ATI entries are gone, but, it installed the old Version 6 CUDA Apps. setiathome_enhanced are the Version 6 Apps and are worthless.

You are Still not using Notepad. In Windows you should Always use Notepad with SETI XML files. Right click on the XML file and choose Open with/Notepad. Don't ever edit a SETI XML file with anything other than Notepad when in Windows. That is probably why you can't get the cc_config file to work.

Good Luck.

Is that the ATI Catalist Mgr? My choices are change or repair.

That's unusual. Single click the file to highlight it and on the menu bar should be: - Organise - Uninstall - Change - Repair.

Edit: - There should be other ATI files there as well.

In case you want to do the uninstall of Catalyst (AMD/ATI drivers):

The options in the uninstall screen can change depending on what program you are working with. For Win 7 SP1 like on my system, for AMD Catalyst installed with the regular package, the choices are Change or Repair.
If you choose Change, you'll get an AMD Catalyst install shield wizard window with Next or Cancel highlighted. If you click "Next", you'll get three choices:
Uninstall Manager - let's you choose what to remove
Repair Catalyst Install Manager
Express Uninstall ALL AMD Software - Removes all AMD software components, including AMD Catalyst Install Manager.

If you do the Express option, all the AMD/ATI stuff will get removed. You can just watch it do it's thing until close to the end, there's usually one final item that you have to confirm you want to remove (don't remember exactly what off the top of my head, but I think it's the install manager), the confirmation box will remain on screen for that item until you choose to continue.

Do I need to edit it? I see my mistake now. It also opens in Notepad. I missed that step. I wonder if the wu's running now will be validated in time or errored out.

You probably don't, but personally I don't like to have SW on my system if it's not needed. It's up to you.

OP if it isn't broken don't fix it; that said this is from the horse's mouth (AMD)on removing their drivers.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx

This is a GPU driver uninstaller from NVIDIA; I haven't used it but they say.

Still don't see any cpu tasks. Do you have "USE CPU" turned on in your website project preferences? Is BOINC asking for cpu tasks?

Also don't see an application for Astropulse on Nvidia. Did you intend to install one?
I wonder if the wu's running now will be validated in time or errored out.
The first 7 did not have errors and are pending validation. When you return completed tasks only minutes after you received them, it is unlikely that the matching task from another computer will be returned that quickly, so it will take a while to see validations.

I do not want to run Seti on CPU, that is used for other tasks. I turned off the CPU box.
I missed that box on the installer(Astropulse).

I guess it still cannot find the cc_config.xml, but it seems to not matter to the wu's getting crunched.

Just as a point of information, there's no problem with seeing setiathome_enhanced here.

The installer just installed one CUDA appllcation ('Lunatics_x41zc_win32_cuda42.exe'), but it configured that application to process either 'enhanced' tasks or 'v7' tasks. At the time we wrote and released the installer, 'enhanced' tasks were still being reissued following timeouts, errors etc. And people might well have had some of those in their cache, as well as the new 'v7' tasks. The application can handle either type, and the app_info.xml that we're seeing also handles tasks of either type: we try, very hard, to avoid trashing people's work when they upgrade.

That safeguard is redundant now, of course, but we didn't feel there was any point in reissuing the entire package just to remove a few lines of text from an xml file. Like the ATI driver, they can just sit there, minding their own business, and not getting in anybody's way. A few extra bytes on the hard disk, sure, but not enough to worry about.

+1

However, it would have been nice to be able to track down as to why copy & paste is not working.

I agree with you. I am just glad my Seti is searching again. Maybe there is an ET out there somewhere. Who is a lot smarter with his computer than me(easy to do, lol).

However, it would have been nice to be able to track down as to why copy & paste is not working.

1) Numerous times he posted that the contents of cc_config.xml are (SEE THE FIRST LINE!?):
(if you press [Quote] under his post you will see this - even with indents):
Client_configuration (cc_config.xml)

<cc_config>
     <log_flags>
          <work_fetch_debug>1</work_fetch_debug>
     </log_flags>
</cc_config>

2) And the encoding may not be ANSI but Unicode

Ive been trying to follow along with this. Are you saying,Client_configuration (cc_config.xml) should just read cc_config.xml?
