Try this calculator to find out how much PSU you need My 980's are using 147W max according to nvidia-smi. The 780's do not show their wattage. To overcome Heisenbergs: "You can't always get what you want / but if you try sometimes you just might find / you get what you need." -- Rolling Stones |

Greetings All Thought I would post up my part time SETI crunchers. ![]() Ducati900ss - ASUS P5Q PRO with QUAD 9400 1 X GTX 970 ![]() Ducati851 - ASUS P5Q PRO with QUAD 8400 1 X HD 7850 & 1 X GTX 660ti ![]() Tazzduke - nVIDIA N680i with QUAD 6600 1 X HD 7850 & 1 X GTX 660ti All three machines have just been relocated into newer boxes, so they are a lot more tidier than they were in there old boxes. Weather is way to warm here in OZ (West OZ) at the moment, so all are on holiday till the weather improves and they only GPU crunch on SETI anyways. Happy New Year to you all and Happy Crunching. |

Built a new rig using a 5930K, four 970 hybrids, in a Caselabs Mercury S8. Currently it is crunching at Einstein@Home, but will make a visit here soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey guys! I want to share some pictures with you: I built a "Smartphone-Crunching-Box". Every old Smartphone will be placed in it. At the moment a Galaxy S4 and a Xperia Z3 are crunching. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That one I liked. Guess it could be called a computer. But if for some reason a box has no room for four such cards, perhaps another solution where a dedicated box having room for only these cards with a high speed cable going to the main box itself could be an option. Makes it two boxes, but perhaps one possible solution perhaps, if you look at it that way. Edit: Looking a little further down, the computer belonging to tazzduke also is looking very nice inside that box. But if you compare with my own motherboard, there is a blue flat unit located there which is not being used. Is that perhaps a SSD? If so, how may I be able to access or use that unit or module? |

Saw this on Lifehacker yesterday... The College Corner Workspace It might look huge at first, what with the sheer amount of gear in the shot, but Adam is a college student, and this is his room. Some smart use of vertical space and you have a nook that’s perfect for work and play. |

Greetings All Have had a few changes happen, for the better. PC Ducati900ss has had its GPU replaced with a GTX 960 2GB. PC Dcuati851 has a GTX670 as a 2nd GPU. PC Tazzduke is now known as DucatiST2 and only has an HD7850. It was time to clean out some old tech to upgrade to a GTX960. So far so good. Regards |

One has a new computer. A Viglen 8.9" Windows-10 Tablet available for Stg£59.00 at your nearest large Tesco store. I'm not sure if it will survive running S@H overnight... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here is My first quad GPU host, my daily driver. Well, plan was good but it didn't work. PCI-E extension didn't work well, all time driver restarts. So plan B quad GPU host, and it seems to be working. Case: sidepanel from some random case. PSU: Corsair RM650 MB: ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+ Socket FM2+ CPU: AMD A8-6500 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Memory: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8 GB SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120 GB GPU: 3 * Asus GTX750TI-OC-2GD5 (in PCI-E), 1 * Asus STRIX-GTX750TI-OC-2GD5 (in PCI-E extension card) OS: Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS ![]() Looks messy but it's working, currently 20th in Top Hosts. And that is because it's using petri33's excellent optimized v8 cuda application. |

Good work there. Congratulations. Shame your case doesn't have space for all the cards! And Linux looks to be taking a very healthy mix of the top positions. Happy fast crunchin', Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

My kitties love to climb on top of the crunchers to get a quick warm-up before begging to go outside to gather in all the free electrons from the rising sun every morning by constantly jumping on me in bed to remind me ..."it's time to get up!!!!!
