Here's a pic of my rebuild of my #1 machine yesterday

AMD FX-9370 with 3 Evga GTX 980s. Not going to post other pics as the case is the same

my stuff looks very similar to Wiggo's

Heres my rather relaxed effort, it's number 7 in the top ten crunchers highest AMD based machine :-) 4 x 280X pulling 780 watts at the wall (240v) using a 1200w power supply.
it runs a weather station and energy monitoring too

Haven't suffered from any RF interference problems its parked next to two wireless routers and doesn't seem to affect anything.

its pretty quiet too, that's the advantage of running caseless much cooler running

I also undervolt all the GPUs to run cooler

OK I've been asked to do this enough times now so after removing the winter dust bunnies I broke the camera out before I sealed them up again.

The 3570K with dual GTX 660's.



And the 2500K with dual GTX 550Ti's and GTX 560.

Oh man Wiggo, what a nice set up. :O How much is something like that worth? ( not to be too nosey)

The cases were $250aud and the power supplies $160aud each, but the rest of the hardware is pretty fluid though motherboards and CPU's I won't pay more than $230aud each for and the hard drives and burners get reused a lot from 1 upgrade to another (I just replaced the burner on the 3570K after 7.5yrs of hard work). The GPU's are what I upgrade more frequently, but I still only use mid-range 1's, though at a guess I'd say that each rig would be worth about $1700-2000aud each if you built each 1 from scratch.

It's really hard to say though as they're a continuing evolution in progress as required Grant, but the cases and power supplies usually see me through at least 2 motherboard/CPU/memory upgrades (if not 3) and those happen about every 5-6yrs, the GPU's about every 2yrs (the rest as needed).

This was 1 of a pair of my old cases that went through 2 motherboard/CPU upgrades with various modifications made along the way, but they just couldn't handle 3 GPU's.

They're just fan grills James and made from expanded steel mesh A4 document draws (a cheap, perfect and easy fit for those fans). ;-)

About as ghetto as things can get here (so far). :-D

BTW that 1's now my son's case (his name is James also) and my youngest daughter has the other 1.

My work in progress... The next step might be water cooling since the case is thermally maxed and I want a 4th 980..

FX 8370 clocked 4.5ghz @ 1.32v
3x EVGA GTX 980 Superclocks
1x EVGA GTX 750TI Superclock

Something a little different. 3 980's really heat up my computer room, so I made a custom window fan that tries to pull heat directly from the rooms hotspot, the ceiling, and send it outside.. It works really well, but is a bit noisier than I'd like.

Also, I'm not a carpenter and made it using normal hand tools, so it's far from perfect.. Don't abuse me to much:)

that window contraption is a pretty neat idea i might have to look into that and build one too

i would use 120mm hp server case fans and put the fans outside since they are really loud but they move a ton of air
