Got to around 0F this morning. Even colder tomorrow morning. Then it climbs back up a little, only to drop below 0 again next week.

I want spring too!

Don't think we broke the record, though.

We've had a lovely sunny day today. Felt fairly warm, but now the Sun is going down it's gone off chilly. More rain incoming, who would have thought?!

Same here, forecast says it might not rain on Sunday :) In the meantime it's plummeted to 7°C.

It's raining. Started about an hour ago. Nice steady patter, not a drizzle, not a torrential downpour. Just what we need, if it just keeps up for the rest of the day.....

The polar vortex sucks. Its 6 F. Where I live. Im about 25 miles north of Syracuse. The weather service is at the airport. I suspect the jets warm the place up.
We were lucky last night only 4 inches of lake effect. But just 20 miles north of my location they got 2 feet in two hours.
They say we are going to get more lake effect the next few days. WHOOPIE do. I am so not thrilled.

The winds are stronger (& rain more frequent) this side of the Atlantic as a direct result of the cold "polar vortex" in the United States. It's strenghtening the jet stream (which is caused by the temperature contrast across the pond) and forcing lots of low pressure systems in our direction.

We're getting plenty of strong winds right now too. They just make the frigid cold even worse.

Today's high will go in the books as 18F, but that was in the very early hours. The daytime high will be about 9. Windchills are around -20.

Hey, look, we have a 30 or better on the forecast... for a week from today. And it will still be below normal.

I'm not going to the train club tonight, partially because of the cold and partially because tomorrow is institute day and I shouldn't be nodding off.

And it pretty much did. "Official" gauge at the airport read 0.08 inch, but the level in my almost-empty pool rose at least 1/4 inch. Next storm comes in late tonight, revised forecast for the Fresno-Visalia area is 1.75 inch total. We'll take all we can get, just no hail, please, the fruit and nut trees are mostly still in bloom.....
