I'll baptize Belgium as 'the windy coutry' I say. Non-stop heavy winds for about a month now... Clouded and 4°C

Currently here in Naperville, 40F, dew point 40. 0.88" of rain since midnight; rain for the month (presumably not counting today) was 0.73".

I think all the snow had melted off my roof by yesterday. If not, I'm sure the rain will wash it off today. Anyway, I only had a minor ice dam compared to some of my neighbors' houses.

They just issued a Dense Fog Advisory over a very large area of Illinois and Indiana, until 7pm CST. A High Wind Warning is in effect from 5pm to 11pm. Winds up to 60 MPH, maybe more.

Then the temperature takes another nose dive. High next Wednesday in the teens, lows down to (depending on whose prediction you go by) -3. We all thought we were done with the <0 crap for this winter.

It's back! Polar Vortex set to return next week - plunging temperatures in Midwest and Northeast to 35 degrees below normal.

Been raing since about 10:00 pm here quite heavy at times. They are saying heavy fog in the AM.
Sunday we get colder temps again. With all the rain that just means more ice.

Hailstones not too long ago and the wind is making it feel a lot colder than 8°C.

Sunny and cool - lows in the 40s, highs in the high 60s. Chance of rain next Thursday-Sunday. Half the trees are in bloom and I've had to double up on my allergy meds.

A southerly change went through here last night taking the temp down to 14C/57F, but with the wind it felt like 10C/50F.

Looks like our summer here is over.

Cheers.

And yet another dose of polar vortex this week. Lows below 0F, high possibly in the single digits above 0 on Wednesday.

At least there won't be another huge snow storm. Some snow, but not a lot.

Wind chill advisory for tonight. Predicting two new record lows this week. And if we get six lows below 0F, that will make this winter number one for the most days below 0.

That's our forecast for Wednesday. Warm rainstorm coming Wednesday evening - Thursday, colder storm coming Friday-Saturday. Looking for up to 2 whole inches of rain this week, plus snow in the Sierras down to 4000 feet.
