Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day.

Groundhog Day (Pennsylvania German: Grundsaudaag, Murmeltiertag) is a day celebrated on February 2. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then spring will come early; if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and the winter weather will continue for six more weeks.

World Cup races stopped in St.Moritz, Switzerland, and Kraniska Gora, Slovenia, because of too much snow. Two meters recorded at Cortina and three meters at Campodolcino, Western Alps, in Italy.

I've given my website a facelift using a standard template available then added some tweaks & mods.

Tell me what you think? Does it look good and serve the purpose - i.e easy to read / find data?

The famous critter Punxsatawney Phil and the less-famous Woodstock Willie were dragged out of their borrows this morning in bright sunshine. To no one's surprise, they predicted 6 more weeks of winter.

The current temp here in Naperthrill is 13F and not likely to improve. Another 3+ inches of snow on Tuesday and a deep freeze Thursday, with yet more snow Saturday.

It is currently 33.9F here in Northern Arizona, just a wee bit cooler than normal.

Looks fine to me mate. What are your hosting costs?

Nothing, well £0.pennies a month probably as I run a server at home on BT Fibre.

No lag / delay at your end then?

We just went through three weeks of very warm
weather out here. So far to day 'Bruderheim
Blinky' is still snug in his den.

You and I need to meet and have a chat. For many years I have always wanted my own online weather station. I have the computer kit, just need to know how to go about it. I could allocate a rig to being a server.

Oh, and no lag/delay that I could discern.

Good to hear. Had some really positive feedback on the new site today. Makes it all the more worth while.

Hey, Andy. I just took a look at your site, just for the heck of it.

The analog clock with the second hand sweeping around, labeled "local time Worle, Weston-super-Mare North Somerset, UK" is showing me MY local time, 6 hours earlier than your time.

I'm running a slightly earlier version than Andy:
http://www.gaw-systems.co.uk/weather_station/

Not such pretty graphics and tends to be off line for long periods due me forgetting to connect the controller to the PC.

Running costs? - Two parts, local and server
Local - The crunchers are running 24/7 and unlimited bandwidth so very little and hard to isolate in that lot...
Server - actually quite a small bandwidth load on the server, so pence per year at the most (comfortably lost in the nose when I'm FTPing big CAD models around In excess of >1Gb each, and several of them a day...)

We just had the 3rd snowiest January since they started keeping records of it in 18-80-something and more is on the way.

Brrr, a bit chilly with the wind today currently 2°C. It'll be dropping to 0°C overnight. Forecast for the rest of the week, increase in wind, slight increase in temps with a bit of rain Wednesday.

I don't know what their idea of cold is, but I like their idea of a school closing announcement.
