Weatherbug a mile away says the high today was 32. That must have been during the night. Right now it's 14.6. That's F.

It's sunny, though.

Not when we had no rain in over 50 days Andy. And as Donald posted, no rain in sight.

Ooh, that's bad. We have all the rain. Only 2 dry days this year in my locality, with many places in the UK now clocking up nearly 50 consecutive rain days.

I know Andy. I do like your new weather site.
Maybe Mr Buffet should have offered the Billion bucks for some sort of weather control system.

Chobham tornado, about 15 miles away .....

Tornado

Oregon Scientific WMR88 Wireless Pro Weather Station with USB Upload

Is it any good?

Interesting link Chris. Will look around and see what info I can find on that. I'm guessing right now though that it was the Squall that gave us 50 MPH winds in the afternoon and not a Tornado tbh. It was a very gusty squall as I reported yesterday, so easily mistaken for a Tornado and did indeed do structural damage over this way, walls down, trees felled, that sort of thing.

The WMR88 is a nice bit of kit, got it at Maplin for a bargain price. Should be about £200, paid just over £70!

I believe its discontinued now, but if you can find them in a store near you, here's detail on getting 10% off.

Must say, very fiddly to set up if you follow the instructions, but easy once you know how! I also purchased some expensive Lithium Batteries for the sensors as they are all wireless and the Anemometer particualarly hard to get to as it's above the Apex of the house so don't want to be gettiong ladders out to change batteries every 6 months!

I've got a WH1070 radio controlled one, but sadly no computer connection.

WH1070

They're not bad stations. I also have the WH1080, which is the same outdoor sensors, but the console has the USB port.

I do find the temperature sensor on those ridiculously sensitive to sunlight (heating effect), which is why I built a Stevenson Screen.

Enough, already.

Chicago's deep freeze returning Sunday night
Several inches of snow expected to fall through the morning are to be followed Sunday night by the start of what could be the longest stretch of subzero temperatures the Chicago area has seen in decades.

Our weather advisory warns of fog along Utah Valley. It has been significantly hazier than usual.
