> I don't expect people to always agree, but I think I can expect these things > to be logically considered. Nothing is an apples-to-apples comparision, but > we must learn from history. I hope the americans do so. look what happened in iraq, when the former Bush-Buddie Saddam was 'bombed to the stone ages', on the reasoning of a bunch of lies (chemical- biological- and nuclear weapons just imagined by idiological neo-cons and presented as facts). I definetly agree that something has to be done to iran, but at least it is far more democratic than Saudi-Arabia. So why not bomb them? > What would have happened if France, the Soviet Union and England (and others) > would have taken preemptive action against Germany in the late 1930's while > they were violating the Versailles Treaty? The SU with Stalin was fine with Hitler, because he gave 'em the Baltics and Poland. And I thiknk the 'West' was fine with him because he was no Commie. wasn't that also the reason for the Americans in South America for supporting his successors pinochet, Somoza, Batista.... > What would have happened if > Germany would have made the atomic bomb before the US?? Food for thought that > applies to this story. Couldn't have done it, they sent most of the good german scientists either abroad or to the gas chambers because of their religion. The remaining few 'arians' had to work on rockets. (Which they continued to do in America after the war). Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

If you knew how an atomic bomb is produced you'd know that making a crude atomic weapon is not difficult. You're just side-stepping the point of my questions. |

What i heard/read about them (perhaps it's just a legend created as a 'Persil-Schein') is, they were deliberatly slow. > You're just side-stepping the point of my questions. No. There is no comparsion between Iran and the Drittes Reich. It's just the new McCarthyism towards the muslims. The Commies have gone, so who can we use next as an excuse? As is proven in Iraq, the american war created the terrorists it was supposed to destroy. even the CIA are saying, that Iraq is now a more prolific breeding and training ground than even Afghanistan. And there were at least terrorists before the intervention. Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

> > Where are you getting this information? > > > http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7460-2005Jan13.html Ah, the Washington Post, now there's an unbiased source. The use of certain words, in themselves, can show bias. In this case, one could say that Iraq created more terrorists; but it has also been explained that many of those who are the remnants of the Iraqi army have discarded their uniforms and become insurgents (these can be considered terrorists) and a call has gone out for militant Islamic fundamentalists from other countries to go to Iraq to fight the coalition, and these are also terrorists. It is clear that the Post claims, while not completely untrue, give a completely different slant to this issue. |

Replacing 15" monitors with 800x600 res would be a good start. I know, money doesn't grow on trees. Check the pawn shops. Account frozen... |

> Ah, the Washington Post, now there's an unbiased source. ACK (without sarcasm;-). Not as the extreme rightwinged FOX-Crap > The use of certain words, in themselves, can show bias. In this case, one > could say that Iraq created more terrorists; but it has also been explained > that many of those who are the remnants of the Iraqi army have discarded their > uniforms and become insurgents (these can be considered terrorists) insurgents = terrorists? Probably most of them. But after Abu-Ghraib there is also a very good reason to get rid of them torturers (all of them, Saddams and Rummys). > and a call has gone out for militant Islamic fundamentalists from other > countries to go to Iraq to fight the coalition, and these are also terrorists. Isn't that the definition of 'breeding ground' and 'training ground'? > It is clear that the Post claims, while not completely untrue, give a > completely different slant to this issue. One fact is clear: There were no connections between Saddam and Al-Qaida before the war (at least no other then between the Bush and North-Korea, i.e. some loose talks). Now there is beyond any doubt a great connection between Iraq and Al-Qaida. So the war produced the opposite of what was intended. No doubt, Iraq without Saddam is like Chile without Pinochet, or Cuba without Battista, or Nicaragua without Somoza, or Cambodia without Pol Pot....but does this justify the death of tens of thousand iraqi civilians? And the end of multinationalism (UN) as opposite to extreme nationalism (who's not with us is against us, coalition of the 'willing')? IMO not.
