Prince Harry dressed as a Nazi at a costume party. Does anyone else see this an a non-story? Did he espouse facist ideas? Did he call anyone by a racial slur? If the kids in my neighborhood dress as witches and monsters, are they supporting their local covens or the democratic party? I think not! Doesn't anyone have a sense of humor any more?

A friend of mine was stationed at RAF Lakenheath during the early eighties. While he was there he bought a fake concert T-shirt that said "Hitler: European Tour" on it and had a list on the back of the names and dates of the countries Germany invaded, with a big "Cancelled" marked over Great Britain. He says over there people thought it quite amusing, but when he came back to the states he got such a ration of crap from every bozo on the street that he ended up putting the shirt in a drawer and never wearing it again.

So now, Prince Charles is saying he will not make Harry apologise or visit a concentration camp. Again, if Harry has become a Nazi, then he should be given some information about the holocaust, and that should be taken into consideration if it looks like he might take the throne someday, but for dressing up in a costume for a party, no apology is necessary.

Army Reserve Torture Squad
Having spent two years during a contrived war as a conscript in a US Army uniform I certainly can understand why you will be going to jail.
Doing what your superior officers order can get you a promotion but when they are in the dark about how the orders are carried out- well, you know, you're all getting locked down for it.
I just said forget it and wound up with lots of official reprimands, Article 15s, bullshit details, and reductions in rank- all that crap till they let me go home- without my Good Conduct Medal- so sad.
But they're locking your asses down for a long time while never admitting that they wanted you to break balls- whatever it took to save lives of GIs or citizens at home.
Working in a prison sucks- You should have told them to do it themselves when they said 'soften them up'
The wrong people are getting locked down- you know it.
But they're important folks- not mere Army Reserve NCOs.
If you were really a sadistic maniac they'd have put you in command. and covered your ass with immunity.

Ex-Premier Zhao Ziyang Dead
BEIJING, China (AP) -- Zhao Ziyang, who was ousted as China's Communist Party leader after sympathizing with the 1989 Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests and became a symbol of the era's shattered hopes, died Monday after 15 years under house arrest. He was 85.

Journalist: U.S. planning for possible attack on Iran.

The US has been carrying out secret reconnaissance missions to learn about nuclear, chemical and missile sites in Iran in preparation for possible airstrikes there, journalist Seymour Hersh said Sunday.

<pooma>The New Yorker journalist who wrote the story probably did so so that discussions - like the one you just posed - could take place in America.</pooma>

I think that it's possible. If and/or when it does, I'm getting a one-way ticket for ♪mi Buenos Aires queriiiido♫…

What would have happened if France, the Soviet Union and England (and others) would have taken preemptive action against Germany in the late 1930's while they were violating the Versailles Treaty? What would have happened if Germany would have made the atomic bomb before the US?? Food for thought that applies to this story.

I don't expect people to always agree, but I think I can expect these things to be logically considered. Nothing is an apples-to-apples comparision, but we must learn from history.

Peace through strength.
