I'm thinking that the badge awarded is a function of both total credit and RAC.

Upon further review the date one joined SETI is also in the mix.

I'm thinking that there still has to be some manual intervention though.

I should have at least a bronze badge if it was on automatic.

You had a much lower RAC a few days ago.
I think it needs some time to adjust.
Maybe after next stats update.

Nope, but highly unlikely for me to see any changes in the near future either.

Cheers.

No personal badge here: very low RAC in recent months, currently focusing on WCG.
But I have more than a million Total Credit, and my team is on top 1%.
If personal badges depend only on RAC won't get one soon here...

At the moment I have a silver badge(top 5% in average credit), though I don't expect that to be forever.

From John Sonntag
There was a bug in the php (does anyone ever run this stuff before it gets checked in to version control?) which was keeping it from working.

My countryman Stephan has a silver (5%) badge, and I have a bronze (25%) badge. His current RAC is ±588; mine is ±2,115. His total credit is ±2,734,800; mine is ±2,645,000. He joined the project in June 2006; I joined in March 2000.

From this simple analysis, it is clear that the badges currently displayed on SETI@home were awarded based on a set of criteria that were valid at the time that the badge-awarding script was first implemented, which was a while ago.

Let's hope that bug in the php gets squashed!

I'm not sure that the badges have change in any was since December. The bit that makes it update could have been taken offline. Unless you follow the dev list it is unknown.
