As it happened I copied the front page at 00:20 UTC and it was still on my log

The machine that serves the boinc database crashed a few hours ago. The project is down until the database recovery is complete.

So nothing to do with the network, all down to SETI@home kit.

There's a post in NC that said it was network problems, which we have had before. Won't stop me running Seti though, it's put-uppable with, just an irritation now and again. And surprising on a University Campus.
