Sigh, and all I had was a CB 1/4 wave ......

My father put up an obnoxious CB antenna on a mast that stood on the ground and ran up the side of the house. I took it down while putting on a new roof, left it lying behind the house, and one day it just disappeared. Someone probably stole it for the aluminum.

[edit]
It probably would have been useful with that 10M mobile, but I doubt I'd ever use it even with an antenna, and it made a lot of noise in heavy winds.

Back in 1975 or 76 I got my CB license. FCC was strict as the dickens back then to. Its been so long since then I cant remember my call sign. I might have the paperwork somewhere. Back inbetween layoffs at another job I drove the big rigs. Late at night CB radio was the only thing that kept me awake. It was a hoot talking to other truckers.

The beer tastes good tonight. One of the machines that normaly is well behaved acted up. I dont know if it was temperature flucuations or an insert holder getting sloppy.

Radio's those days were not as good and now are clear. The wires in the trucks are much better and Julie drinks finer beer.:)) Here I am talking about her when she taking the weekend off. :)) Here I am fighting windows 8 which I think sucks trying to go back to 7 that is a real trip.

My father's call was KBBK1741. (Amazing how I can remember that 35+ years after it became unnecessary.) His handle was the Jolly Green Giant. I was the Chattanooga Kid. My grandmother was Groovy Granny.

Great Job Zappy, it took me 15 months to turn out 1 million. My 4 core machine worked it butt off. If everything goes right I sould break 2 million by next Feb sometime. Mine runs 24/7 so it really has to work. :))

Now if I can teach it how to crack open the beers I'll be all set. :))

Cheers

Sorry Julie and all you folks since I don't see all these my type"O's" are many and I don't see them these days, but I will limp through it. :)) My old machine worked a whole year and turned out about 85,000 and thought wow your cooking but looking at others? it's like looking at a pimple at 10 feet. :))

Julie, I have to pay someone to bring me a beer, if you don't? your darn lucky. :)) But I'll drink with anyone that brings me one ... Cheers

It took me ten years to get my first million. I started with a P1. Thought Id gone to rac heaven when I bought a P4 in 2003. Ran that machine right up to May of 2013.

We crunch what we can afford. I too look at other macines and go WOW wish I could do that. Id love to build another machine, But thats off for 3 more years or winning the lotto.

But heres a toast to all you for crunching. Cheers:)

After relocating my youngest son down the hill (near the Uni that he'll be attending this year) yesterday and spend some quality time with a lady friend I'm finally back home.

I did stop in at the bottom pub for a driver reviver, but now I'm home it's Rum O'clock time before an early night.

Cheers.
