Yep, it was also reported on the BBC news, that in places, water is now rising up from under the earth to mix with the ground water already there. Everything is just totally saturated. Look at this report.

Thames flooding in Surrey

Hitler couldn't beat us in WWII, neither will these damn floods either. Makes you proud to be British!

Mind you if the damn rain would stop it might help a bit!

"S'cuse me, am I anywhere near to No.2 Riverside Way"?

Thames flooding in Surrey

"There's tremendous local support. The local borough sent people round on Monday to ask if I needed anything. I said, 'I'm fine thanks very much.'

"I'm lacking the exercise in my poor old bones but other than that I'm content."

Now that is very British!

The bell is tolling..........

The political revolution has been cancelled until further notice.......

...please call back in 100 years or so

Very apt!

No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were:
Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.

I see our favourite soundbite party only achieved 4/10

Hmmmn, teacher must mark their cards, Could do a lot better if they tried

To quote a friend of mine, who is a Labour councilor in one of the neighbouring boroughs, "We could put up a dead donkey in Wynthenshaw and it win with a comfortable majority".

That's the worry, when they make statements like this then you have to wonder
about the calibre of those who vote Labour? Clearly the Labour Councillors feel
that their supporters are a bunch of brainless morons!!...perhaps there right
and they are brainless.

That was the subject of another discussion - he had nearly as many doubts as I did about the "must vote Labour voter", and was somewhat ahead of me in when it came to the "must vote Conservative". Boy do I mess those lunch time discussions with him....

London Pride Sir?

My colleague was one of the few local politicians I've met who was worth voting for - if I'd lived in the same street as him I would have voted for HIM (not his party, and he knew and respected my views). He worked hard for his constituents, and respected the views of others. So many of the rest I've met are little more than "lobby fodder", with the personality of an empty, damp, paper bag...

There are many reasons people vote in General Elections, for a party, for a government, for a person, or just tactically. Locally, in By-elections or Council elections, it is more usual for people to vote for individuals.

Quite true, but the head of any party has to show his worth as well. Unfortunately Nickerless Clegg is going to cost the Lib-Dems their one shot at power come next year.

As for working hard all year round, I see that you did not reply to the comment regarding your party's achievement several posts up......

...4/10? poor showing for any party but totally expected from the party now known as the "Turnabout Party".

Sorry, not biting at last weeks stale bread as bait.

Makes one wonder why you bother sometimes. Just why are you espousing all your crap regarding Lib-Dems?

They're only in power for one reason and that is that there was no overall majority at the last election.

Due to your bosses peccadillos that opportunity will not occur next year, so tell us all, what will you be espousing then?

Really, is that so? If I want to dig a real hole mate, I'll hire a British JCB and do it properly. And drop Sirius down, before I backhoe hoe hoe to fill it in :-))

With the comedic fools within the Lib-Dems as portrayed by yourself, it just proves that many a fool thinks that the Titanic will be saved, even as the bows slip under.

Many have already noted your disdain for my posts but whenever a valid post made questioning the morals, decency and honesty of the party you support, regular as clockwork, you avoid the question and home on a post that gives rise for such a post as above.

You would have made a first class Gauleiter! Thank god they never managed to march down Whitehall.

I tell you what, Sirius's ramblings have got some correlation with the Famous Henry Root letters by William Donaldson. But at least in his case they were intellectually amusing.

@Rob - Passed on the pickaxe, not too worn out. You only need a light touch to deal effectively with some people. Almost as good as new.

You have already been seen for who you truly are......

Geez, tone down the blatant xenophobia and racism would you? You don't have to like the practices of those regimes, but please, don't act like they are cavemen compared to your 'superior' advanced and civilized society.

Thanks for the advice, I did. I can now recognise a real fruitcake when I see one.

I see Cleggie's making a fruitcake of himself....

Head-to-Head

However, I see the Millipede's party being arrogantly cocksure again......

The priority for us is to ensure that there are debates agreed between the two prospective prime ministers of the country - Ed Milliband and David Cameron - at the time of the general election," a spokesman said.

Del-boy aide arrested

"As deputy head of the policy unit, he was one of a number of officials who had been working on policies to rid the internet of child abuse."

Probably use the excuse that he was corrupted by the Lib-dems as they can't keep their flies zipped!

I always said that lorry driving was a mugs game for mugs. Looks like the National experts now agree with me.

At a Grand a week, nice mugs game, so I'll continue being a mug. Much better than being a retiree entering politics in the vain belief that change can be made by said individual.

Del-boy & Nickerless under fire

"It is total hypocrisy. they need to make up their minds on this. That is why we should have everything out in the open."

"For too long, the benefits of immigration went to employers who wanted an easy supply of cheap labour, or to the wealthy metropolitan elite who wanted cheap tradesmen and services, but not to the ordinary, hard-working people of this country."
