I have one GTX760 installed and have configured it to run 9 GPU tasks at the same time. Seems to be doing just fine. It now consumes about 2500MB of the 4GB memory, uses 98% of GPU and 63% of Memory Controller. Temp stays in the low 60s C.

Does anyone have experience with a second duplicate NVIDIA board? Is there any advantage? Should they be connected with SLI and would that confer any advantage?

Thanks

I was thinking of upgrading to a 760.
Do you happen to remember what your percentage
of GPU usage was when you were only doing
3 work units at a time?

I have twin GTX660s running a max of 2 APs or 4 MBs each. I do not run in SLI config because of screen lag and there have been times when I have gone down the road to the dreaded BSOD, even when running at reduced capacity. When SLI was attempted, I did not notice any difference in running times. If you run games or watch DVDs and desire SLI, then suspend GPU processing via the BOINC activity drop down, just remember to go back and reset afterwards. I prefer to suspend the GPUs this way as it will permanently suspend them as oppose to suspension by right-clicking the icon as that is only temporary. SLI can be activated/deactivated via the NVidia control panel.

There is no advantage in suing SLI to run S@H, indeed some say there are disadvantages.
No doubt for other uses (games & video for example) there are advantages in using SLI.

While you may be able to run 9 tasks in the memory on a GPU the limiting factor is the GPU utilisation, which is maxed out somewhere in the region of 2 to 3 tasks per GPU - a bit of trial and error is needed to see where your system hits the limit.

Bill,

With 3 or 4 work units in the GPU, it was maxed out. What I've been watching is the thru-time. ie: How long does it take to complete a work unit. Net is that though they take longer, I seem to complete more work per hour most of the time.
