Are those your own weather station figures Berni or someone elses? Mine are from my wireless station in my back garden. My wind speed is affected a bit by trees surrounding the mast, and the real wind is usually about 20% more than indicated.

Actually an average from my two most accurate weather apps apps.

Having been out this morning I knew the wind was a lot stronger than 7 mph!!

I am watching the World Cup giant slalom in Soelden, Austria. Although it is run on a glacier at 3000 m height, temperatures are all above 0 C and the snow is melting.

Looks very nice out today (so why am I in here being a mouse potato?). Supposed to rain from Tuesday night through Thursday.

Well looks like the south east is shutting down overnight.

South West Trains passengers have been advised not to travel on Monday with most services not running until at least 08:00 GMT - Eurostar says it will not be running trains on Monday until 07:00 GMT, with early services from London and Brussels subject to delays of at least an hour and all morning departures operating with speed restrictions. - London Overground also said it will not run a service on Monday before 09:00 GMT, while First Great Western has warned of extended travelling times and Southeastern says it is likely to start running services later in the morning. - First Capital Connect and C2C - which have also advised against travel on Monday - and says services are unlikely to begin until 09:00 GMT. Greater Anglia, Southern and Gatwick Express services all say they will not run services on Monday until it is declared safe to do so.

Not a good day to travel by train!!!

Balmy 79F/26C here, but a bit windy, so no raking leaves today.
I guess Julie may catch part of that Storm System too.

All those train cancellations seem to make a bit more sense now

This was taken over the fence in my local park, yes that is the main London to South Coast railway line below.

PS the park is full of broken branches big and small.

Was fun driving back down the M1 from my parent's house last night, really strong cross winds at exposed locations like bridges.
Didn't affect my car too much but all the trucks were swerving in sync every time the windbreaks at the side disappeared. A couple overcooked it too, i remember seeing an Argos lorry on its side by Junction 23.
Haven't lost anything from my house yet, it's an enclosed rear garden, but there are many big old trees nearby.

Warmer, but rainy starting overnight tonight and lasting through at least Thursday morning, maybe into trick or treat's prime time.
