Message 1435377 - Posted: 30 Oct 2013, 1:18:09 UTC - in response to Message 1433954.

No need, Chris. My brother-in-law went to the house on Tuesday morning, after everything had settled and reported that there was no damage at all - although some of the neighbours were not as fortunate. My mother had been kept awake for most of the Sunday night, by the sound of the wind, but that was the extent of the damage. However, I have to report that my sister was greeted by the sight of her TV aerial, hanging by it's cable ouside her front window, when she went downstairs on the Monday morning. Thats Starcross for you! In Essex, I noted that C2C were not running any trains (on Monday) until about 13.00 hrs and on my drive to work, I noticed that the traffic was very light (Essex wimps)! Indeed, allowing myself an extra 10 mins to travel, meant I got to work, 15 mins early!!!

Today was fairly nice. Too bad I had to work.

The forecast for Halloween just keeps getting worse. Rain starts about midnight tonight and continues through Thursday night.

Now if I can just get used to your millibars...

So much for that forecast. Scattered sprinkles overnight and fog this morning. Rain now supposed to start this afternoon.

No sprinkles here, just cold temps and scattered clouds, it's 43°F/6°C outside right now, glad I'm inside, where it's 76°F/24°C.

Waw, the temps in Yermo have surely dropped, Victor!

Cold here as well outside, 9°C

Little bit of drizzle on and off, but the big sploosh is coming in a few hours. The computer model says about 1.5" here and 2.3" not too far south in Joliet.

There *may* be a small window for trick or treating tomorrow.

The temperature, however, will hold steady in the upper 50s or even rise into the 60s overnight.

Already put mine away. Only 42F/5.5C, so time for some soul food, split pea soup.

Come on, there's still two months left of this years BBQ season, then a short closed season before the 2014 one starts (and remember I too am in the Northern part of the Northern hemisphere) There's nothing quite like firing up the BBQ when there is a foot of snow on the ground and the temperature is below zero :-)
