Made in Alexandria, The Origin of the Yahweh Cult

When one throws out all unprovenanced religious beliefs and traditions, reads some real history and puts it all together this is the result.

There is an even more extraordinary connection I have yet to document completely so I won't swear by it yet. John Maccabe named one of his sons John Hyrcanis. Hyrcania was a small kingdom on the northeast coast of the Caspian Sea. A thousand years later this kingdom would be called Khazaria. It might appear absurd that the cult of that small kingdom could spread to Persia, Babylon and Judea but no stranger than the cult spreading from Judea to Babylon and Persia. An incredible coincidence if you believe in such things.

I think that the Old Testament was written as a children's book for the babies of Babylon sort of like Grimm's Fairy Tales in the 1800's.

There is no evidence of any time in Babylon. The entire captivity story is another myth. It is also one of the easiest to date from the prophetic section of Daniel. Its prophecies change from all correct to all wrong around the mid 2nd c. BC making that the time it was written.

The Old Testament was an attempt by the Scribes of the time in 1500BC to record and write down the history of the Jewish race before it became lost. In those days most of it was simply handed down by word of mouth from generation to generation, plus what crumbling paper or tablet records remained. Of course it contained the background to the history of the Jewish faith as in Genesis. Chronicles 1 was simply a collection of family information that we would recognise today as Parish Records, or the Register of Births & Deaths.

The New Testament basically details the last 2000 years history. The Bible today as a whole is basically a "Hand book of Christianity" much like the Haynes car owner manuals.

Given your dates it is difficult to assume you and I are talking about the same material.

However there is no evidence of the existence of anything like an "oral history." There is no evidence of a literate culture in the hillbilly country of Judea until after a century's exposure to Greek culture which started in the 3rd c. BC. Therefore that is a "just so story" a rationalization based upon two other impossibilities.

that's funny because Babylon is a common city in the old testament. Don't forget that Daniel was thrown to the Lions in Babylon.

The book of Daniel is dated to the 2nd c. BC as that is when its prophecies change from all correct to all wrong.

What does Babylon being a common city have to do with when the stories were written? Was the movie Lincoln made in 1867 because the subject is Lincoln?

because you made mention that babylon wasn't mentioned in the bible. Funny thing is most of the old testament didn't take place in the current state of Israel.

Since the religious impulse goes back about 40000 years, at least, no one finds it odd that Matt Giwer chooses to attack one group?

I must review my own material. Where did I say that?

From archaeology we know none of the OT took place any place. Other than a couple near accidental connections with real history the Septuagint is total fiction in every aspect.

A religious interest of some sort goes back further than that.

As the "truth" of both Islam and Christianity is predicated upon the "truth" of the OT if on takes down the foundation the others fall with it. It is an incredibly economic use of time and effort.

I am familiar with "everyone hates the Jews" so no one can expose Judaism as a fraud just like every other religion. Which is of course nonsense.

Yes.
Almost as odd as You and Matt starting to post again at the same time.
Is this due to some bromance gone bad?

What's nonsense is your denial of your own anti-semitism. While you may argue that a person may not have to be an anti-semite to be anti-Isreali, the distinction is lost in your writings on your website, which contains so many falsehoods it would take years to uncover them all. Here's one::

There is only one Israeli citizen on the 9/11 victim list. They were clearly very lucky.

source

There were at least 5 Israeli citizens on the victim list (source). That your fact checking is woeful is not unexpected, you will not let the truth get in the way of your hatred.

I see the JREF threw you out, I hope TPTB at SETI do the same.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

First let me point out there is no law against it. I will also point out there is no definition of it. I will also point out the hatred of Christianity and Islam runs incredibly deep and has been around from the beginning. Read ACTS for a description of the attempt by the Jews to exterminate the Christians. Don't start a fight you can't finish.

But I have no religion.

Antizionism is a moral imperative. Zionists hiding behind being Jews and claiming Israel can do no wrong is such an old canard it is ridiculed before it can be stated.

Thank you. I will immediately amend one to five and perhaps change "clearly very" to extraordinarily. And THAT was supposed to be EVIDENCE of your claim? Your independent efforts have established it was extraordinary luck. Excuse me. A city 1/3 Jewish and out of 1800+ there were only 5. I am at a loss for adjectives. Let me assume that is thick enough for you to keep your rant going but on another subject.

And you forgot to mention the warning of the attack on the morning of the attack I learned of in Haaretz, the Israeli newspaper. The newspaper which hires only Jews, does not have a non-Jew even on its janitorial staff and I are antisemites together. I sort of like the company myself.

So your best evidence is that I wrote one when there were five. Get a life!

And still no law against it.

BTW: The tradition of saying people hate Jews if they will not believe the stupid claims of Jews is first recorded by Josephus in Against Apion Bk I. I am certain you can find it and verify that for yourself.

I see the JREF threw you out, I hope TPTB at SETI do the same.

And Dawkins board shut down its entire public debate session over the ban on quoting Israeli sources of news which exposed the real Israel. Nothing new here. Pissant Israel is sacred to fake atheists like JREF and Dawkins. I am sort of proud of it being able to recite from impeccably Israeli and Jewish sources information that refutes the petty propaganda of its rah rah supporters.

Remember the Liberty! Never forgive. Never forget.

This does not prevent any religion from being exposed. In this case it is simply the origin of Judaism. All the archaeology indicates there was no literate culture in Judea until the mid 2nd c. BC so nothing could have been written before then. Please do not tell me inscriptions in Phoenician over centuries which would not fill the back of a postcard constitutes a literate culture.

As to the religion itself I think it incredibly obvious no people would have ever created a religion with a tyrannical priesthood with the power of summary execution. It had to have been imposed by force which brings us to the Maccabes. For this rule that made even Stalin envious the Egyptians created a backstory to justify it.

Once again conflating Jews with Isrealis demonstrates that your hatred is not directed at "zionists" it's directed at Jews. There were hundreds of Jews that died as a result of the attack on 9/11 (source). BTW the Jewish population of NYC is not 1/3rd of the total, it's not even half that (source).

Primitive is not an operative word here. Which of those is the more primitive? A phonetic script needs many, simple shapes that are not readily confused. After you assign O and X and I to letters you have to get creative.

Anyway is Phoenician. Fake archaeologists who are also known as biblical archaeologists deliberately misidentify Phoenician inscriptions as "hebrew" even though the script is identical. For example the inscription in the old Jerusalem water tunnel which believers stupidly call the Hezekaiah tunnel is clearly in Phoenician. What Israelis today call "hebrew" script is 1st c. AD Aramaic script.

I made a mistake, not deliberately, but from what I had found. You now find something different. Without even fact checking it I say I will use it. And now you are upset that I would use what you found. Can you explain?

And you forgot to mention the warning of the attack on the morning of the attack I learned of in Haaretz, the Israeli newspaper. The newspaper which hires only Jews, does not have a non-Jew even on its janitorial staff and I are antisemites together. I sort of like the company myself.

You sound very silly making demands. You are in no position to make demands however in this case I am way ahead of you. The link is included in the discussion of it. There is a search function at the top of my homepage. The article goes on to say Israel is cooperating. I have not found any follow up on it. Perhaps the perps just disappeared. Israel attempting to start wars between the US and Muslim countries goes back to the Lavon Affair in the 1950s and as recently as posing as CIA to hire MEK terrorists to murder Iranians as recently as last week.

If you were an Israeli perhaps I could understand but it appears you are an American. Also if you were a Jew I could understand somewhat, cultural paranoia and all, but you appear to be an atheist from what I remember of your posts so you are not a Jew. The only other group that has a dog in the issue are the born again christian renecks but you do not post like one of those either. I really do not understand your interest. Could you explain?

Perhaps just for the fun of it you are attempting to foment criminal activity by the SETI project as by Milkyway@Home. I had a quarter million credits when some hysterical izziehugger found my website and the project erased the credits committing criminal theft of computer services not to mention unethical and unprofessional behavior. Is that what you are attempting?

In any event if you want to discuss that sort of thing why not start a new thread and see if anyone responds? It is sort of common courtesy not to deliberately disrupt discussion topics.
