I'm donating $342 for "my team" GPUUG. And I'm not doing this under duress. Angela is definitely not holding my beloved Compucolor II hostage.

OMFG........
Eric, are you sure you can keep the Raccoons from nibbling your toes off in the middle of the night if you do this???

Angela surely controls the Raccoons.

My husband is diabolically clever! By donating the amount he did, it puts the Raccoon Lovers one dollar behind the GPUUG, which means Raccoon Lovers are now in second place, which means we are in line to get the promised $300, which puts us $299 ahead!

Love ya, Pookers!!!!!

Well, if ERIC can donate to my present team, I certainly can.

Dear Mark Sattler,

Thank you for your gift of $205.00 via Visa on 09/27/2013.
Your gift will benefit the following area:

SETI@home - $205.00
205 for the GPUUG.

That's cash out of pocket, kids.

My own kibbles.

Meow.

And this may, diabolically, skew the results.

I have my reasons.

Per my calculations we have the following combined bid for the Raccoon Lovers Team.

now, if that doesn't make things interesting :D

Yes, it does indeed.
And I'll have to make a ruling so that everybody bidding knows where they stand.

I will accept the $25.00 monthly bid a year as valid in the amount of $300.00, to be added to the team bid that without it, is in the number 2 spot at the end of the auction.

So, if the number 2 bidder is $299.00 or less under the high bidder, they take the auction.

It will take some extra work on my part and that of petri33, because I shall have to see proof of each monthly payment.

I can justify this because.........
Here is the second part of my ruling.
If, for any reason during that first 1 year period I cannot verify each monthly payment, my participation immediately and irrevocably reverts to the team that lost their number 1 spot with the addition of this special bid.

If the number 2 team is more than $300.00 behind the number 1 bidding team, it's a moot point and the number 1 bidder still wins.

I suppose I should address the unlikely situation that there should be an absolute tie. In that case, I shall extend bidding by another full week.

Hope that answers any and all questions at this time.

About 19 hours to go, everybody.
Don't stop bidding yet!

Meow!

Thank You, I'll PM or post a scanned credit card bill each month (partially blanked, not 100%). The blanking will be done by me and not the GPU/CPU so it may be a bit slow. The results will be valid though.

[edit] Oh no! The account page knows that I donated. I do not have to do the blanking.[/edit]

This is getting gloriously confusing - I think I'm gong to lie down in a darkened room until Mark emerges with the results.
Which ever team wins the Kitties Favour there is one sure fire winner - S@H is in for a nice pile of cash and few more green stars will be waving in the breeze :-)

Eric and I have a happy social event to attend tomorrow, so we will not be able to monitor the auction results. I will tune in when I can, to see how this interesting auction turns out.

Goodnight friends!

This is a 2 year transfer of power crunching.
I commit to this only in the name of Seti donations.

I have been received some negative PMs./
They have been ignored.

Let me get this straight.

I hold this kitty farm auction once every few years.

I last did it, if I am correct, in April of 2011.

I have been a steadfast member of the GPUUG, some of whom seem to have lost their memory of that event.
Rob.......just lay down and we'll sort it.

Green stars best be left to another conversation at another time.

Get my star drift?

Nice effort from many!!
When the smoke clears, I shall have some things to say about those who have supported me, and those who have not. It somewhat clears the air when one asks for a little pocketbook money to be one's friend.

And I don't expect everybody to be able to.
But, shit. On a team of 70 some, who claims to be the top crunchers in the world??
A freaking 10 spot from each would not be too much to ask????????

It's kinda funny, because the ones that have declared friendship in the past are not there right now.

The ones who have sent me funds and hardware are right there up front, like they always have. Not just because they can afford it, but because they CARE.

They really do, and have proven it with actions, not words.

Let the auction go on, and I shall call out some things in the end....

Very nice efforts on the part of all who have donated so far.

I am amazed at this time by your support.
Really.

I hear what you say Mark, but don't let's spoil this auction by letting any personal animosities take over. If you have an issue with any particular team over this, then I think you should keep it off line. There are two issues here, who can stump up the most money, and who genuinely deserves to win it.

You bet, Chris!

A most sincere effort has been made so far by all involved.

If the truth be told, I don't care at this point where my efforts are carded and awarded. It's just the cachet of the winning team having the highest bonafide crunching member of the project on their side, I guess.

That's what it is all about. And simply what it is all about.
That, and the love of the project.

I cannot guarantee my RAC for a year from now. I cannot guarantee it tomorrow.
It happens to be at an all time high now, since AP work has been available to the kitties, and that's what they are set up to do best. Cores available, clock speeds, ambient air temperatures, how fast does the wind blow, things some of you don't fret as much about.

Bid on to the finish, my friends.
Bid on.

Meow.

Please keep this positive--let's leave "those who have not" out of it--commenting on any negativity doesn't benefit the project in any manner.

Let's just celebrate the positive please.
