OUTSTANDING!

How long did it take those two GTX 780's to reach a RAC of 100,000?

My two GTX 780's have been at it for almost a week now and they're only at 15,000.

Only Astropulse Guy (with 12 CPU)...

I have had two 780s since august. I do 4 AP at a time on both cards and 3 MB.

GPU-Z says they're at about 90% load each as is. One freed CPU core and perfmon says my CPU is hovering at 98 or 99%.

Are you running SETI@Home 24/7 on that computer?

My comment only applies if you are.

You might want to free another CPU core. For a host of reasons my experience may not end-up being your experience, but...

I find if I let my CPU usage get that high it starts slowing-down my GPU work. I looked at your Free-DC stats and the daily production (which will rise slowly due to Pending work units) are not what I would expect for your GPUs *only*, even now.

Something's got you bogged-down a bit, or maybe you don't crunch all day and night.

My GPUs usually show a 95% or better utilization. I have CPU crunching turned completely off and still show anywhere from 40-60% CPU usage. Typically, I'll run 3MB, or 1AP, or 1AP + 1MB at a time on each of two cards. (don't judge anything by my numbers right now - my machines are not set-up to max-crunch SETI now)

And it's worth noting that the optimum number of simultaneous work units can change when the applications change, so you might have to re-tune if you change applications (stock vs optimized).

This is a guess, but I'm guessing you have too much CPU work running to get the maximum throughput from the GPUs.

Thank you Thomas. Now that I'm back to crunching AP I should get my RAC back up to mid to upper 40K's.

By the way, I just went over 50,000 RAC for the first time in my 14 years of crunching! Seeing a RAC just under a quarter million is what I'm shooting for. :)

Congrats on that 50 000 and keep on crunching till you hit your goal. Tweak a bit here and there and try slowly and wait a few weeks to see how any change affects the RAC.

What tbert said is the true, to get a bigger RAC, you must run AP and leave some cores free one for each AP you run anyway CPU crunchig is a lot less eficient than GPU crunching.

The other way is go to the SETI Beta project and get the ultimate AP build, that build uses a lot less CPU to crunch but you need to know how to merge this build in SETI.

Anyway the AP WU has a vely long deadline, so you will wait a lot to get you AP validated so your RAC will rise very slowly.

To get a better view if the RAC is realy rissing see in:
