This shall be the new repository for anything buggy, including Vic's moths.

I'll start it off with a signature image I found in a locked thread at the Boinc boards.

(It's not my team.) (I suppose if they ever change their banner, this post won't make sense any more.)

In the latest version of Ubuntu, sometimes when a window is maximised the buttons on the toolbar cease to work and instead the click goes through to whatever is behind, usually the desktop.
This doesn't happen with all windows, the terminal for instance can be maximised without any problems, but it always affects Mozilla Firefox and LibreOffice.

Fweet!

Okay, okay, we have a ruling from the Commissioner's office. There is nothing in the rules of the thread that explicitly forbids computer bugs. Penalty against Simon is overruled. Proceed.

You said anything buggy. Never specified biological or otherwise. :)

The only computer bug I'm having is trying to find a workaround for the fact that ADOBE killed Flash support for Linux!

Their latest, (and last/final), player for Linux doesn't work; I get a black screen with a spinning blue circle in the middle, like it's trying to load the video, but it NEVER makes it... :-(

I uninstalled Adobe Flash and installed Lightspark; however, the same thing occurs... (MADDENING!!!)

One difference between Simon's Ubuntu, and mine, is that mine is 32 Bit and Simon's is 64 Bit.

Message 1414672 - Posted: 12 Sep 2013, 16:14:40 UTC - in response to Message 1414645.

So far after almost 6 tubes of caulk and I'm buying a 7th today to finish the master bedroom off, I have not seen any moths since about 8:30pm last night, temp in here is 72F, in the master bedroom it's 74F and the window is securely latched and the cooler is on low cool, instead of on high cool(cool uses the water pump, vent does not), Grace has been helping, sometimes She spots them before I do, but on the 1st I'm hoping to have $11.59 extra so that I can get another tube of GE white silicon caulk for the bathroom and that should be the 8th and last tube of caulk, I also installed 3 new electrical outlet gaskets to keep any moth or heat or cold air infiltration there, so all My outlets and switches have gaskets now(all but 3 had gaskets since 2006), outside of replacing 3 windows, all that's left to do is install about 1800 screws on the outside of the house(Only about 4'-6' up from the bottom of the house, no screws should be needed above 6' above the bottom, 6" apart above or below an existing nail), which will also make the mobile home more rigid since 3/4 of all the nails used to secure the outside wall panels have come loose as the nails have backed out of the wall studs some, then it'll be down to paint, but at least the moths should be firmly kept out. And yes I do know how much the screws and such minus labor will cost Me, less than a/c for this place.

When you buy the screws go to a contractors supply and buy them in bulk. Back when I was a proffesional sheetrocker thats what we did. If you go to a hardware store and buy a box of 100 or two hundred you will pay threw the nose for 1800 of them.

And dont buy sheetrock screws for extereier use. The heads will rust and break off after several years. Buy the best extereier ones you can afford.

I'd thought about buying 1800 wood screws off of Amazon for about $58.79, their phillips #8x2" zinc plated. These are not for drywall, but then I'm not trying to secure drywall, the wall panels are on the mobile homes exterior and are more like wafer board. Plus I was going to countersink them so that they'll be flush and not stick out, which means I'd have to buy a cordless drill(B&D), a 7/64" x 2-5/8" drill bit and a countersink bit. Right now this is just an idea of what to do of course.

And since I caulked this morning in the closet, where I caught one actually entering the closet from the wall in the one spot that I'd not caulked yet, yes I caulked that area afterward, plus any crack that led to that area, just in case, I've had no moths since then, it's 80F in the bedroom and 95F outside, so far, so good... Crosses fingers.

I found the latest crack the moths are coming through(possibly the last as I caulked all the rest that are known or used expanding foam in one hole in the drywall that is too big for caulk, about 1" in size), since I'm nearly out of caulk and money for the moment and cause the crack is at the edge of two wood panels and both panels are on a wall stud, I put in some nails to seal the gap, I'm melting in there. In 2 places I wasted somewhere around 8 nails, all bent, tough locations, other locations are no problem. I need to buy some clear HDX paintable caulk and some GE White silicon caulk for the bedroom and the bathroom, I've been told a lot of the mobile homes have cracks from wear and tear and yep shortcuts by manufacturers, Fleetwood Enterprises who made My place went bankrupt in 2009. So I'm mostly on My own here.

Oh and please no more unwanted threads in My name, I won't post in them...

For most caulking I switched over to HDX white caulk as it is $1.98, the GE silicon caulk($6.24) is for the bathroom really and I had no idea what was good caulk, but for the bathroom the GE is supposed to be good for around a shower and being silicon rubber its supposed to remain flexible.

With Your Known Prowess of Research Abilites, You are telling EveryOne you DID NOT KNOW. That is Total BS. You Research EVERYTHANG and Know Cost Etc. to many numbers to the left of Decimal Points.

And Clear Shipping Tape can be used for a Many Many Many Repairs around The House. I would fill a gap with Trash Paper and then Span The Gap with Shipping Tape. And Using the Right color paper, you can match the wall color. Viola. No intrusion and no use of nails or caulk(cheap or otherwise).

I had to get rid of Him cause the ears had some wire in them...

Cut slit in ears, remove wire. Then stuff ears with suitable, "stiff" stuffing(again, almost anything laying around the house considered "trash") and Viola, you Keep Bugs. Bunny that is. Heheheheaheahehe

Victor you also need to seal the outside also. If moths are getting in they are coming from the outside. Sealing the inside only means you wont see them living in your walls. Also not sealing the outside leads to other bugs and insects getting in between the walls. Not to mention moisture. I realize you live in a dessert, But it still must rain there. When isulation gets wet it is next to useless. and causes mold.

Vic, dude, I hate to break it to you, but I think those darn things have a breeding colony in your house. Sealing every last crack won't help you if they are already breeding inside your home.
