Why do I think it is for green things?

Why do I think it is for green things?

Perhaps because you also have one of these goofy things stashed in a cabinet gathering dust?

The items intended to be stored in this container are indeed green, but that still leaves a large number of possibilities.....

Strictly speaking, neither.
Not dried, bit not fresh, either.

I don't think I would use this gadget unless it is for refuge for the compost heap.

Not fresh, but not dry either. MMM.
Could go in the refuse pile, but may not.
Related to salads, evenso I hope not.

Herbal related?

Herbs and spices are used to prepare the green food items that are stored in this container.

I've not seen them in green salads. A different form of this food item is sometimes used in pasta salads.

What ever goes into my pasta salad will also wind up in my green one.
Grapes and Tomatoes go good together.
One is green, so somewhat on topic.

No, not grapes or tomatoes in this container.
Somewhat larger than grapes or grape/cherry tomatoes.

I'm going to call it a night. I just measures the container. It is 6 inches tall, about 5 inches in diameter, the lid is 1 inch thick, and the main storage chamber is 3 inches tall.

Hmmm, bigger than grapes or cherry tomatoes...
I was thinking of litchi's then but they wouldn't fit in a pasta salad.
Green cheese maybe...

Is the item generally refrigerated? If it also comes in commercial packages, do said packages say "refrigerate after opening"?

They are, and they do, usually glass jars.
