Interesting. I thought hitting reset project wiped out everything in the project folder. I've only done it once in all my years of crunching though, so it's not like I'm well-experienced with that.

For an idea of where to look for the app_info file, look in your messages tab in BOINC and you will see something similar to:

2013-07-18 20:36:19  Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC

Of course being on a not-windows environment, the path will look different. Once you find that location, shut BOINC down (usually exiting the Manager shuts it down) then go to projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\ and then just select all and delete everything. Start BOINC up again and it should download all the stock applications and start giving you WUs, based on your preferences.

Me too, only when you re-install your OS you get a new host ID, but even then you can merge the old host so the RAC and totals stay intact.

On topic : sorry, but I'm just a stupid Windows user so can't help if it turns out to be related to your OS. I can only hint that the BOINC "appdata" folder is hidden by nature so you should check "show hidden files" on your machine...

Go to /Library/Applications Support/BOINC/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/, find app_info.xml and delete it. Then exit & restart BOINC, next reset the Seti project.

So. A few months ago, the old setiathome_enhanced (v6) application was retired in favor of more-precise methods, which are now V7. New applications are needed for it.

If you wish to continue running with optimized apps, you will need the latest of those from Lunatics. Seeing as you are on Darwin (OSX), I'm not sure what the current status is for that.. one of the Lunatics members (or anyone who has an answer) will need to chime in.

But that explains why your RAC has plummeted.. you haven't been able to do any new work in a couple months. For the time being, you can open up BOINC manager and select the project, and hit "Reset Project." This will dump out your app_info and the old optimized apps and download the current stock ones from the project and some new work and you can get back to crunching until you get an answer/solution for the new optimized apps.

Resetting the project won't help, to remove the app_info the simplest method is detach from the project then reattach (with Boinc 7 that is remove, then add the project)

Ok I can see that you have an Apple and you're running an anonymous platform so for starters remove your app_info.xml and make sure that your SETI computing preferences are set to accept SETI V7 work, then update and see what happens. ;)

You do that through your online SETI computing preferences page and wait an hour or 2 for them to become visable.
