Somehow it's got to, which is why I for one welcome the UKIP protest vote. It is meant to give the main parties a kick up the backside, and I think it is doing that. What we need to be careful of is not getting too enthusiastic, and handing them to much power they wouldn't know what to do with.

While I don't agree with that subsidy I think you might want to consider how lucky Londoners are, my combined water bill is nearly £450/annum and that is not considered high.

My cousin in the South West has bills of £500 and that is after a subsidy of £50 from the government, in recognition that their bills are much higher than rest of the country.

After a close perusal i realized that the Seti:Politics forum is all about the English whining about everything under the British Sun. I imagine that if i had to live in the UK i'd be miserable also. You have my sympathy.

Cameron's spokesman should have anticipated that questions on fracking considering the headlines saying that Cameron wants the the country to back fracking.

It would not be a bad idea if he was to do something that showed he personally liked the idea, like issue a license for his home patch, or move to a place where fracking has been licensed.

The 'is fracking good or bad' debate ultimately boils down to which side is worth listening to.

In the 'good' camp: many hundreds of scientists, engineers and industry experts who have conducted thousands of hours of research and studies into the benefits, risks and potential side effects of fracking, to ensure that their advice represents the soundest recommendation for the industry, and have concluded that fracking results in large gains with minimal risks.

In the 'bad' camp, a few dozen hand-wringing reactionary hippies who know very little about what they're trying to stop, and only have the time to protest because they don't have proper jobs to go to.

Guess which side i'm on.

He is obviously looking to the future after 2015, by lining up a job within his realm of experience, and that is a reasonable thing to do. But his timing sucks. It doesn't matter if it's only 1 day a week, his constituents will feel that they've been put on the back burner. Not very savvy for an ex Minister, and maybe noted by his new employers.

If he's not seeking re-election, i don't think annoying a few local voters will really bother him.

Where i live has quite a good system, we have a wheelie bin for non-recyclable stuff, and orange bin liners for all recyclable stuff. Two bins is very manageable.
