Sorry if the solution to this issue is well-known - it is not to me.
I have a WU that gets to 48 seconds left then goes back to 52 seconds and loops like that. This has been going on for days now. Here is a log excerpt:

Fri May 31 11:42:04 2013 | SETI@home | Restarting task 06jn10aa.16866.25016.7.11.160.vlar_0 using setiathome_enhanced version 605 in slot 3

I don't want to make this someone else's problem by just aborting this WU.
I am using an iMac with 8GB of memory the latest version of OSX, BOINC 7.0.65 and setiathome_6.05_i686-apple-darwin

any ideas on what to do here?

Bob

I have a unit like this as well.

Anyone know if this unit can be sent to seti@home or if it needs to be deleted?

My unit is 99.9xx% complete, but never gets beyond the last 12 seconds to completion, instead the clock jumps back to about 40s

Thanks

A

I had that happen and if I remember corretly, just restarting the computer didn't correct the problem. I had to "quit" BOINC and then restart the computer. When BOINC restarted, the WU completed just fine.

I have a work unit that runs in a loop where not only does the work left clock cycle back but the time elapsed also cycles back. And then the whole thing repeats a little cycle of 15 seconds or so.

I tried the quitting BOINC and restarting, but it did not make any difference at all. At the moment, I have just suspended it. Other units I think I received at the same time seemed to go through OK.

SETI v 7.70 Mac i7 running OS 10.8.4

Any suggestions?

Never did see any suggestions on what to do with the WU so I went and aborted it.

Now I have another weird WU

Mon Oct 7 18:59:09 2013 | SETI@home | Restarting task 19mr09aa.3738.75444.14.12.211_0 using setiathome_v7 version 700 in slot 0

It has been running and restarting for over a week. The behavior continues after restarting BOINC as well as restarting the machine. It has completed 99.489% of the WU (gets down to 00:00:57 left and then pops back to 00:01:12 left).

Any suggestions?

BOINC client version 7.0.65 for x86_64-apple-darwin
Processor: 8 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5]
OS: Mac OS X 10.8.4 (Darwin 12.4.0)
