Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? Nope - I checked my stdoutdea.txt and I've got the same, but I don't run app_config.xml I do however run boinc 7.0.64 - well the messages are not doing any harm, just confusing everybody ::) A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. Question to Jason G. The readme (yes, some of us read that ;-)) states ATTENTION: The AVX MB application will only work if BOTH your CPU AND your OS support AVX (minimum requirement: Windows 7 Service Pack 1). Why not also state that minimum CPU is Intel Sandy Bridge or newer, and AMD Bulldozer or newer? (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Vector_Extensions#CPUs_with_AVX) |

First I want to send a BIG WELL DONE!! to the Lunatics gang. And a BIGGER ONE to William for taking care of his health and not losing his d%$amn mind in getting the installer ready as promised. With that being said, after installing v0.41 on my i7/950 machine and d/l'ed new WUs, I noticed that several VLAR's went into SUSPENDED BY USER status. Soon after resuming these tasks they reverted to their previous status. 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.157.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.206.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.239.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.235.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.200.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.22.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.61.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.67.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.247.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 13:10:34 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.203.vlar_0 suspended by user ![]() ![]() I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Question to Jason G. The readme (yes, some of us read that ;-)) states That's actually a question to me. because a) we have a CPU feature plugin that should properly detect if AVX is available b) because I think people should bolldy know they got AVX c) because I alerady point to CPU-Z d) because i didn't want to make it unnecessarily complicated d) if you know you have Sandy bridge, then you know it's AVX, don't you? Low grade users may not knoe their CPu but they usually do know what flavour of OS they are running. edit e) because I found it too complicated. That said, noted the comment for the next readme update... A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

LOL...... Now this bit is really wild. I have one rig that has been running in stealth mode for some time now. As soon as Windows (XP Pro x64) got past the boot splash screen, I lost all video. The rig kept crunching, I just could not monitor anything. Video remained available in safe mode. Plugged in my USB stick, copied the installer to my temp file, and let 'er rip. Not only did the installer run correctly in safe mode, when the rig rebooted I got my video back... Dunno, reset something in the drivers. We'll see if it stays the next time I have to reboot, but for now I am ROFLMAO. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Question to Jason G. The readme (yes, some of us read that ;-)) states We did cover that in the general chatter last week - message 1371776 - but yes, we could have added it to the readme files. Next time..... |

First I want to send a BIG WELL DONE!! to the Lunatics gang. And a BIGGER ONE to William for taking care of his health and not losing his d%$amn mind in getting the installer ready as promised. I have 1.47 installed, but it was not in use at the time of the issue. I only use it to get a quick snap shot of how many of which type of tasks that is on a machine. The log I included is from BOINC 7.0.64, but will wait until the new release is out. ![]() ![]() I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

I'm puzzled by the problem I'm having. I get a bad app_info.xml file - just one line: Update: The aimerge produced the same results, even though I deleted all aistubs and ran the installer again to make sure only the ones I needed were present in the directory. Have built the app_info.xml file by copy/paste from the aistub files and I'm running. In the meantime, I created other problems (too many to go into) but those are now resolved. I'm getting my tasks resent because they all disappeared from the directory after one of my goofs. William and all the others, many thanks for all the volunteer time and talent. Works perfectly on AP's (both CPU and GPU), V7 CPU. Haven't tried it on the V7 GPU as I have cuda32, 42 & 50 on this machine atm but I must say : Hats off to all the Lunatics guys for their hard work ! ![]() |

It seems that now all work fetch has been suspended, this is from 7.0.64 event log. There are 4 more VLAR's waiting to run. My big question is why are VLAR's going to the GPU when in the past it has always gone to the CPU? Do I need to install Fred's Rescheduler to revert these tasks back to the CPU or should I just abort them? 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.157.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.206.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.239.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.235.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.200.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.22.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.61.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.67.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.247.vlar_1 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:18:49 | SETI@home | task 22ap10ab.2960.18781.236223201283.12.203.vlar_0 suspended by user 06/03/2013 14:19:29 | SETI@home | update requested by user 06/03/2013 14:19:31 | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 06/03/2013 14:19:31 | SETI@home | Reporting 13 completed tasks 06/03/2013 14:19:31 | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: some task is suspended via Manager 06/03/2013 14:19:33 | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed ![]() ![]() I don't buy computers, I build them!! |

Unsuspend them manually so you can get some more work, then look into that BOINC Tasks thread. |

If its on the 660, theyre now sending vlars to kepler gpus as they appear to be able to process them. They take a bit of time, but they should still process ok |

OK, guys and gals - the doctor is... OUT V0.41 tech support service is temporarily suspended while I cross over to the pub in search of some lunch. Back in 10 minutes or so. |

And now the Doctor is back... IN (the pub!) - not sure the WiFi will extend out into the beer garden. |
