There is a readme for the AKv8c apps in the docs folder. AFAIK the only command line argument has to do with verbosity. No parameters are available that would speed up crunching. The apps do some testing themselves and choose optimum settings for each cruncher, between a lot of different options. |

I'm puzzled by the problem I'm having. I get a bad app_info.xml file - just one line: And not even on win8 :( Ok, check your project directory if the .aistubs for the apps you selected have been copied in. Then doubleclick on aimerge.cmd to manually run and see if that produces a valid app_info.xml. If that doesn't help, but you do have the aistubs, you have to manually merge them into one large app_info.xml - copy all together and take out all the </app_info><app_info> inbetween the apps. The applications in the 32 and 64 bit installer are absolutely identical - we do not have 64 bit applications at this time. Thanks for that info, than I need to download just one, since I plan to unpack the files and update manually. Another question: are the MBv7 CPU apps just the exe or do they need any dlls like the AP exe? ![]() |

Ive not used the installer, but Ive seen a great work in the naming and versioning of the apps, which made the manual installation much easier than ever. Congrats and thanks for all the hard work!! I take it you extracted the apps from the installer with 7z. The CPU readme is named Readme_AKv8c.txt and can be found in $_OUTDIR\docs\ . Same goes for all other readmes. NB that is if you don't actually use the installer. if you use it readmes for the selected apps end up in the doc folder in the project folder. Yes, there is a new Readme_AKv8c.txt file, which will be installed in the docs folder with all installations. Other specialist ReadMe files for the GPU apps will be selectively installed, alongside the applications they document. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I didn't count the S's, they all ran together. </Tazz> |

I take it you extracted the apps from the installer with 7z. That is! Not used it because Ive already had all the optimized versions for everything but the MB v7 apps... I was sure that the readmes should be somewhere but I tend to ignore folders with "$" and other non alphabetic characters on the (wrong) assumption that they are just temp folders... :D Thanks, again! ![]() |

BTW if you get an 'internal server error' from CA just try again - I guess the site isn't cut out for the load we're putting on it. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? Not sure what happened there. Please: Shut down BOINC Re-run the installer - make sure you've chosen the right one (32-bit or 64-bit) to match the version of BOINC you're running. Re-start BOINC Post the first 30-40 lines from your event log. |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? I got the same errors on one host, but the next messages said it was restarting the tasks. They started from where they left off. Everything seems to be running fine. No mention of downloading files other than workunits. </Tazz> |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? I guess that is expected, the old apps are not anymore there after running the installer so BOINC fixes the client_state and reports the files that were not found... ![]() |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? I got exactly the same thing. And also, next lines of log showed everything restarting normally, and all is fine since. Could it have to do with leaving the app_config file in? ![]() ![]() |

BTW if you get an 'internal server error' from CA just try again - I guess the site isn't cut out for the load we're putting on it. I just updated my top two rigs. One XP pro, one XP pro x64...no problems. Only side note is by default they selected a notch below the best GPU app for the cards installed. But the one I wanted was not greyed out, so I was able to install the desired version. I'll save the installers to a USB stick and update the other 7 rigs with that to save a bit on the download server. Nicely done to all!!! Many meows to ya. BTW if you get an 'internal server error' from CA just try again - I guess the site isn't cut out for the load we're putting on it. We can't detect GPU - we are defaulting to the one that will always run. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Ok , I got 6 wu's with LONNNNG estimated run times , That was expected , I checked the event log and found these errors showing up , I Guess the files will be downloaded as needed ? Let me guess the host you got it on is the one running boinc 7.0.64? A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |
