I tried to set Fred's program up to read V7 using the "Other" tab.

I entered http://setiathome.berkeley.edu in the "project url" field and setiathome_v7 in the "application" field.

However when I hit the Test button it gives an error. The log claims
"Project not found (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu)".

At first I thought it might have been due to the outage at Berkeley as everything was dead in the water, but now that things are "normal" again the error is still occurring.

I might have thought I had the application name wrong but definitely not the project url. I've known that off by heart for years. :)

Does anyone know what the fix is ?

Remember if you use the Rescheduler you and your wingmen will receive a lot less credit per WU, so try to avoid the use of it as cleary pointed on Fred´s page.

"Warning, rescheduling may result in less credits, for you or your wing man.
Try NOT to use it, unless there is no other way." ... from Fred´s Page

I don't want to use it to reschedule, I want to know the balance of CPU to GPU units I'm getting.

BTW. I've found that with "Enhanced" units, quite often when you moved CPU units to the GPU the credit goes up. I can't prove it because all the relevant units are long gone from the records, but there were many cases where I noticed where rescheduled units scored nearly twice what untouched units in the same series did.

And I've found that being the wingman of people who have done that that I've got about 20% or less of what the workunit was actually worth.

Cheers.

T.A., if you would like to see how much CPU/GPU WUs are in BOINC, just take Fred's BoincTasks Manager.
You see what's running and how much WUs are ready for crunching (combined WUs in a line added with a number how much WUs).
[EDIT:
Example:
6.03 setiathome_enhanced [34]
6.10 setiathome_enhanced (cuda_fermi) [20]
6.01 astropulse_v6 [12]]

I use this Manager over the Berkeley BOINC Client since months, maybe years.
I'm very happy with this combi.
Give it a try and test his manager. :-)

With the next message I'll not make friends. ;-D
Before CreditNew were rolled out, BoincRescheduler was a very nice tool.
But since CreditNew it will negative influence yours and your wingmen Credits/WU.
This is bad.
I hope Fred will not upgrade the Rescheduler for SAHv7 WUs - JMHO.
*duck and run away*
;-D

[EDIT#2: Since the new Credit System 'CreditNew' you shouldn't longer use a reschedule tool for to send CPU WUs to GPU or GPU WUs to CPU (confirmed by SETI@home Director Dr. David P. Anderson).]

Hi Fred
I don't want an update. I just want to know how to set up the "Other" tab to read V7 files.

If I put http://setiathome.berkeley.edu in the Project URL field and "setiathome_v7" in the Application field, when I hit the Test button I get a "Project not found (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu" error.

Do you have any idea what the correct entries should be ?

Check the state file, the names should match.

And the advice was?

I'm sure it was to add / at the end:

Do you known if there will be a new version of the boinc work resheduler compatible with seti V7 ?

vlar WU should never send to GPU (cuda) and i can see a very high drop of calulation effiency with seti V7

Earlier in this thread, Fred (eFMer) said he does not plan to update the rescheduler for V7. The reason is discussed in other posts in the thread - an adverse impact on the credit calculations.

Was he then referring to V7? ;-) ;-) :-) :-)

Apologies, I could not resist!
