actually you are a bit remiss about the issue. Employment of workers is the issue. Getting people to work increases tax collection which decreases debt from employment insurance and other federal benefits. You'd realize this if you'd have paid attention to the W Recession and the massive layoffs/firings to cut costs.

Isn't it funny that the Obama stimulus not only paid for itself in record time, it also stimulated long term job growth. Amazing how Rooseveltian economics works

Guy, you speak as though you don't understand the multiplier effect. That would get you a failing grade in econ. 102.

It's really difficult to read what you write when everything you say is upside down.

LOL as if what you state is the truth. Honestly you keep beating your head against the wall and you see stars. It doesn't mean you're outdoors. Self defeating ignorance on fiscal policy that repeatedly has worked(Gov't spending in recessions) vs supply side economics thats been panned as pie in the sky policy for over 80 years... yes 80 years. Seems Harry Truman helped defeat such policies when he was a Senator back in the 30's. As I read more it's been around since at least 1896 in the form of trickle down economics. Either way, we give money, tax breaks and deregulate to help the wealthy supposedly create more jobs. We know from several experiences with this logic that we get bigger debts wealthier wealthy and fewer jobs. On top of that we don't get the jobs promised. It's a sad state when one professes a policy that clearly does not work EVER

Its a shame we can't all learn from history instead of making new histories up to suit our needs.

A billion spent by the government generates a few bureaucrat jobs and a bunch of people addicted to welfare, with a small amount of tax recapture from the bureaucrat salaries.

A billion spent by fat cats generates a ton of minimum wage jobs filled by illegals [Americans won't work for minimum wage, welfare pays more] and no tax recapture as income taxes off the jobs is zero.

A billion spent by JPL/NASA generates a bunch of high paying high skill jobs a bunch of new tech to be exploited by the private sector and about 10 billion in tax recapture.

I'm just waiting for H&R block to go under because they won't be doing tax refund loans this year because of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Tax Act. I dang well wouldn't want to be a tax preparer for the next couple of years, telling people who have gotten big refunds all their lives, this year you have to write a big check because you don't have health insurance which you can't afford.

I wonder if the current administration will be able to get that number up to 1 out of every 4 before the mid-term election.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately say the government needs to spend more.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately say the the national debt doesn't matter.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately say raising taxes is good for the economy.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately say the GDP can easily zero out the national deficit.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately say more government jobs is good for the economy.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the "patient protection & *affordable* health care" act.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately saying it's Bush 43's fault, but because Obama is doing it now, it's ok, but it's still Bush 43's fault.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the functionally unlimited secret power backed by the FISA court.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the BATFE and their botched sale of guns to Mexico.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately disagreeing with the IRS preventing dissenting opions from getting tax free status.
Haven't seen anyone in here lately disagreeing with the white house seizing AP reporter phone records.
Haven't seen anyone in here say bugging the senate minority leaders office was as wrong as Nixon bugging the DNC.

What's wrong? Are light bulbs finally starting to light?

I was an H&R Blockhead for one season a few years ago. I interacted first-hand with over 100 Obama voters. Somehow, it was my fault they didn't get a "refund" as big as the one they got last year. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for tax season 2014. It'll be hilarious.

Someone has to pay for all the free health care.

We had to pass it to find out what's in it.

As Gary pointed out, you need to look harder

Haven't seen anyone in here lately say the the national debt doesn't matter.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately say raising taxes is good for the economy.

Again you might need to look harder.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately say the GDP can easily zero out the national deficit.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately say more government jobs is good for the economy.

Depends what you mean by a government job. Gary said:

A billion spent by JPL/NASA generates a bunch of high paying high skill jobs a bunch of new tech to be exploited by the private sector and about 10 billion in tax recapture.

Last time I checked NASA was a government agency and JPL was federally funded, i.e. if you work for either you have a government job.

Do you think smaller ATF, FBI, etc would be good for the economy? If so, why?

Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the "patient protection & *affordable* health care" act.

When was the last time the subject was raised?

Haven't seen anyone in here lately saying it's Bush 43's fault, but because Obama is doing it now, it's ok, but it's still Bush 43's fault.

Let me get this straight, you want people to go on the record as hypocrites? Good luck with that.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the functionally unlimited secret power backed by the FISA court.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately supporting the BATFE and their botched sale of guns to Mexico.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here.

Haven't seen anyone in here lately disagreeing with the IRS preventing dissenting opions from getting tax free status.

A government revenue collecting agency investigating groups that are opposed to the collection of government revenues, does not strike me as anything particularly unusual. Though you said "preventing" rather than "investigating", what's the evidence to support that groups that rightfully can claim tax free status being prevented from achieving this status?

Haven't seen anyone in here lately disagreeing with the white house seizing AP reporter phone records.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here.

Haven't seen anyone in here say bugging the senate minority leaders office was as wrong as Nixon bugging the DNC.

Not sure I recall any one ever saying that here. Though you said "as wrong as Nixon", which equates the action of a private individual (albeit with party allegiances) with the head of the executive branch. So no, to my mind it was not as wrong, though it was most likely wrong.

What's wrong? Are light bulbs finally starting to light?

What's wrong? I don't know Guy, maybe you need better spectacles.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...
