i have not run seti enough to know if the current has affected my rac but all it would have taken from september on was three days of decent work units to put me over 1 mill, I am at 1.4 mill now running sporadically so moving the severs has done much more for my though put than 7.0 have done for my rac . even though i am on less time more work is getting done and is that not the bottom line? |

Until V7 my RAC was averaging 40,000+ now its down to 31000 and still in free fall. Seems that giving less credit this week for the same amount of work done last week is a slap in the face to all the crunchers who have been competing against each other for a long time and we should probably look for other more deserving projects. |

Until V7 my RAC was averaging 40,000+ now its down to 31000 and still in free fall. Have you folks ever thought of going on strike for higher credits? |

If you take the totals from BoincStats and divide the Projects RAC by the nuber of active hosts the average credit per day is less than 200. In other words 2 tasks/day. If a host is using an Nvidia card for some or all of that crunching then it will have to do a least 33 validated tasks before the host uses it's own figures in the claim for credit rather than low default numbers. Therefore it is going to be at least 17 days plus the time to finish any MB V6 work before there is even a chance that credits will be 'normalised', from when V7 was released. But it gets even worse as 50% of all tasks are completed by the top few thousand hosts. therefore you can at min double the previous estimate. And you know that when estimating jobs, you need to double the figure and use the next higher 'unit of measure'. Which makes it in excess of 6 months ;-) |

Eric wrote at beta. I think that we're having problem because the APR of the CPU versions of S@Hv7 hasn't stabilized yet. It's still strongly weighted toward fast CPUs, and that's reducing credit grants across the board. I'm hoping that a week from now things will be showing higher APRs. Like i said after roll out. Just give it some time. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

If you take the totals from BoincStats and divide the Projects RAC by the nuber of active hosts the average credit per day is less than 200. Well, the kitties aren't going anywhere. I'll be here with them in 6 months, if that's what it takes. Or longer. Or never. Right now, I am doing as much work as ever, or perhaps more. Even though my RAC does not show that. If credits had not crashed, my RAC might have gone up, as I was not doing optimized AP on the GPUs before the new installer came out and now I am. As Murphy would have it, I suppose credits will start to come around about the time I have to slow things down due to the summer heat....LOL. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." My RAC has plunged 25%, from 139K to 104K, in less than a week and it is still dropping . . . and with that observation I say "goodbye" to SETI crunching and munching. Oh dear, all these poor men with their wilting RACs. Never mind, sildenafil goes out of patent on 21 June - maybe you'll be able to get it back up then. |

Oh dear, all these poor men with their wilting RACs. LOL. We could start a fundriser now and after that date buy some sildenafil for the servers and see if that helps and the RAC finaly rises... but I still doubt... |

Better go for a couple of 100´s six´s packs... 1 week all ready pass and the wait to see the RAC stop sinking apears to be very long... |

Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. With CreditNew I wouldn't like to bet on that. "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. And unlike most advice, it's backed up by proofs." -- Algorithms to live by: The computer science of human decisions. |

Look at the postive side. It can't fall below 0. I do seem to recall an instance once or twice when somebody had seen negative credits awarded....long time ago. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
