Message 1373310 - Posted: 30 May 2013, 6:09:18 UTC - in response to Message 1373300.

Hi,
When instaling v. 7 my antivirus (AVG) detects heuristic viruses, how should I react. Is this a false alert ?

Should i copy n save this file app_info? ty

I think yes but not copy. You must add this part to your app_info

I did this and now I HAVE V7 modules.

If troubles let me know

I use lunatics 0.40 for crunching. How I can fix this? Thanks

From my post in number crunching:
My recommendation (Subject to change after I try it) would be:
- Set No New tasks
- Wait until tasks all complete, upload & report
- delete app_info.xml from the project directory
- reset the project
- Allow New tasks

Extra notes: Probably need to check web options too in there somewhere [OK :)]. I'd try let the server decide amongst the compatible versions over some time with one instance per GPU (underutilised due to memory intensive Autocorrelations) then worry about multi instances after things settle in. You'd likely want either newer Recommended Boinc for that, or wait for installer for older Boinc clients to run with app_info (anonymous platform)

You'll need to ensure the web preference for V7 is ticked as well, which I gather it probably is.

I would like to repeat Jason's message.
Jason is one from the Lunatics crew.
So trust him.

BOINC will D/L all needed from the SAH server automatically.

Wait to next Monday (or so) when the Lunatics Installer v0.41 comes out - if you would like to let run 'anonymous platform' (3rd party (optimized) apps).

My AVG antivirus software has a problem with Version 7. Is there a fix in progress for that?

As usual with AVG most appropriate place to await for fix is their own forum/support team. AVG proven to give false positives too often to bother react on them :/ Check with some online antivirus sites. If threat confirmed then it's worth to discuss more.

Just to be clear for those with Keplers running stock with variable set

A resend of a version 6 Seti at home 6.10 will use the new stock GPU apps

that do not needvariable set?

Thanks.

Correct - but don't delete the variable (yet), v6 resends are still going out, and will still use the old app. Having the environment variable will have no adverse effect on the new app, or anything else that we know of.

Not here, please. Start a new thread in Number Crunching, if you wish - but please don't post until you've thoroughly tested. We're currently doing that for the new installer, so it will be interesting to compare notes, but we're not planning to release before Monday.
