Ok I got the EVGA GTX570 in the HAF-932 case that I'm using for testing, the bios on the card only goes to 85% for the fan, I think I can solve that later on if needed, the card is plugged in to power and has downloaded 93 wu's since Boinc recognizes the card as does Windows 7, the temp at idle is 1C higher than the 580(32C @ idle) and the exclude statement for the 580 is in place and working, the reason for the exclude statement is cause the 580 needs new thermal pads as does the 570, though the 570 will or at least should do as it is for testing purposes, though when I put the 570 and the 480 block together they will have new thermal pads and AS5 heatsink compound. Ok I went to USPS and I brought home the newest card that I have(I thought for sure It would take until Thursday to get here, as the 570 came from CT), before running it for testing, I'll have to take the cover off and give it a good dusting and maybe some AS5 on the gpu only(which I have plenty of), then when I get some Koolance 0.7mm thermal pads I can put this card in a 480 water block, the two together make 1050, ;) like where have I seen that number before? Ok I won an EVGA GTX570 1570 video card on ebay for $143.91 with shipping. I can't get the pads yet since I need to buy a can of eggs, but as long as I can buy the 5 thermal pads for $32.34 w/shipping being included in September I'll be ok. I had to take out a small loan to do this, that on August 1st I'll be paying back. The 570 will for a short stint be here for testing until I can get the pads, then be converted to water and installed in the Pegasus(the newer PC that I'm slowly building). The 5 thermal pads are enough to equip 4 gpus with fresh thermal pads, but then I have plenty of AS5 for the 4 gpus that I now have, slowly things are falling into place, as I have planned... It's an EVGA GTX 570 1570 card, I won the card on ebay for $138.00, the shipping was $15.25 for a total of $153.25, I saw an opportunity and took it, the earlier bidder didn't stand a ghost of a chance, victory was mine. It's not a supercharged version at 732MHz, but it will do, it's going into the new PC once it's been tested for a bit and then rebuilt with fresh Koolance 0.7mm thick thermal pads and AS5 on the gpu. Vic ML wasn't talking about your mobile home he was pointing out your computer being on the edge of the counter why Grace could easily push it over the EDGE. Possibly, but that's a temporary location, since that part of the counter isn't braced much, once I get a stand for My printer, that case will go on the bottom shelf of this desk, since I doubt that ledge will support a lot more, the HAF-X is now about as heavy as My current PC and the HAF-X is short by 3 video cards, the 3 blocks, plus fittings and water, instead of having the printer sit on the box of fan fold paper. The last time this area experienced a quake, it was a 3.0 nearer to Barstow CA than here, nothing happened outside of a small jerk, but I didn't have the case on the counter then and that case even without any wheels is too tall to be under the upper cabinet. Before that there was a 5.0 quake in Big Bear CA that shook the house and made the place sway a bit, but that was it, Big Bear to Yermo is 44.68 miles in a straight line, by highway it's 65.0 miles or 1 hour and 15 minutes driving time, that info I found at DistancesCalculator.com. Vic ML wasnt talking about your mobile home he was pointing out your computer being on the edge of the counter why Grace could easily push it over the EDGE. That might be true, But an earthquake looks like it would send that thing over the edge. That one wheel is mighty close to the edge. But its your money. [/quote]Old James |

Vic ML wasnt talking about your mobile home he was pointing out your computer being on the edge of the counter why Grace could easily push it over the EDGE. It was hard to tell, Grace once got some dry food under the present case, but She never pushed on the case, not even once and She still doesn't, so no worries. Ok, I think I figured out how many fittings and what types I'll need for My next PC known as the Pegasus, this will use an unknown amount of Black Tygon 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD tubing(I'm looking at buying 20', hopefully that will be enough), 2-Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 480x120x80mm radiators and 1-Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 240x120x80mm radiators, an XSPC Dualbay Pump/Reservoir(I have the Pump/Reservoir already), the cost for the fittings alone is looking like a total of $302.78(+$7.00 for 2 extra plugs, or about $309.78 total) and that includes shipping of $16.61. So that means I'll need to remove the 4 fittings on the motherboard and cpu after I've rinsed both blocks out, I'll have to rinse out all My blocks before use to check or remove old dye or bits left over from the machining process, only the fittings, tubing and pump/reservoir shouldn't need this to be done before everything is assembled and leak tested. All of this in one case too, now if only Phantek will have these cases at FrozenCPU in a few months(at Comdex 2013 they mentioned maybe July for about $250.00USD). 3-Bitspower G1/4" Black Sparkle Low-Profile Stop Fittings(Plugs) Products Model: BP-BSWP-C09 1-Bitspower Multi-Transfer Base (Coupler) - Set of 2 - Black Sparkle Products Model: BP-BSWP-C03 1-Bitspower BP-MVV-BK Mini-Valve - Black Sparkle Products Model: BP-MVV-BK 1-Bitspower Rotary Fitting "T" - 180 Degree Water Cooling Accessory - Black Sparkle Finish Products Model: BP-BSTR-C 6-Bitspower Premium 1" Version Black Sparkle D-Plug Set Products Model: BP-BSWP-C38 20-Bitspower Premium G1/4" Black Sparkle High Flow 1/2" Compression Fitting (For Tygon 1/2" ID) Products Model: BP-BSCPF-CC5 @ ML1: The area has had gusts up to 75mph and the mobile home has earthquake bracing as required by county code, the mobile home been through wind, snow, rain, hail and quakes since 2006 with no damage, so I'm not worried or concerned. Teetering on the edge of an abyss, "wheels ... without brakes", and a furry four-pawed fiend feeding immediately alongside... Meeeoooowwwwwwwww! ? Hope also you don't suffer high winds or earthquakes! Small hint: Tie-down straps keep things in place. And once you're already on the floor, it's hard to fall off. (Unfortunately, dust and hairs and rubbish and everything else have an unholy affinity for the floor also...) ;-) Happy fast cool safe non-cat-crunch crunchin'! For the time being, I'd decided to put the wheels that I bought for this case on, I'd only been able to order ones without brakes from Europe, but I took one with a brake off of the HAF-932 and installed a new brakeless wheel on the 932, not an easy task as I was fighting gravity and I couldn't see where the screws went in, all while this PC was running, so both cases have one brake each. The HAF-X(942) is much easier to move with wheels, hopefully a review of that Primo case will have wheels for the case... I think I'm going to get a new case, yeah the Enthoo Primo from Phanteks(Google search for the Phanteks case), it seems to be the case with the most radiator expansion, it can hold a 480 in the top and a 280 down below, plus a 240 or maybe a 280 in front or a pair of thin 240's from what I've seen at this site Here, $250 in July, sounds good, at the link there is a video there at the 2nd link, they even made sure the psu was isolated from the rest of the case thermally, the case has 5-5.25" drive bays and a 6 channel fan controller(20 fans! 5 fans are included.), so yeah I'm definitely interested, this case has My attention. Oh and this case is supposed to be out for $250 in July of 2013... So that's two cases, one for this PC and the New one... That case can house TWO 480x120 radiators, that's simply fantastic, I left a message at this site Here, as I'd hope they'd do a review of this case. A more complete introduction is Here, that's almost a review in itself. My Amazon Wishlist The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I'm not sure how 108G will use both antennas, ones an aux and the other is the main as I said earlier... Depending upon the device, it may well use each aerial for one 'channel', so for 54Mbit/s you use one aerial, and both aerials get used to give 54 + 54 Mbit/s. To minimize interference between them and so gain the strongest signals, they should be 90 degrees to each other. And to keep your cats off them, add a large plastic (not metal!) container to cover over and protect the aerials? That is a very true bit of knowledge. I'm impressed when anyone knows that. Thanks for that. However, such detail is hopeless for pub quizzes! And I'm dismayed by how few people realize their mobile phones are radio transceivers... Radio waves and propagation, what's that?!... It's all Magic!?... Likely the best you can do for those is to have them 45 deg away from the case and angled so that they are 90 deg from each other. That is, they form an off-axis "V" shape. I'm not sure how 108G will use both antennas, ones an aux and the other is the main as I said earlier, but then until I get both PCs built, the wpn824v3 router will be nearby on another shelf, later when I have an active cable internet outlet behind the TV, then I can move the modem and the router to under the TV, which is about 20' away, instead of maybe 2' away. That looks awfully precarious perched on the edge of a ledge! Hope you don't get any tornadoes or any excited cats coming your way! The case has been there for months and nothing has happened, when loaded up with everything the case will be on a steel shelf like My current PC is. The antennas are right now just trying not to stand out as there is a cat who has chewed on antennas in the past, My current 108G card has only 1 antenna and It seems to work folded against the case, the one on the HAF-X only has two cause ones an auxiliary antenna and the other is the main anyenna and since I can't read the text without a magnifying glass(I don't remember where I put it), I can't tell which is which. Oh and I figured out that I may only need two radiators for this build, a 360x120x60mm and a 420x140x80mm or a 360x120x80mm instead of the 420, on this build I can run three 120x38mm fans externally. Now if only that Koolance GTX 480 water block will get here soon. My Amazon Wishlist The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Also, as a radio ham, I can't help but be horrified by how close those wifi aerials are to the metal case! They should be somewhat further away from the metalwork for good performance.
