Not at all! When you know you're in the wrong, and there's no way you're going to get out of it, there's no point in denying it and making it twice as worse. I've had a closer look at the site since then, and there are two bridges side by side, linked by a roundabouts at each end. That means that any emergency vehicle on either bridge, can within seconds get on the north or south bound carriageways as needed. I now often see Ambulance fast response cars parked up there. It's Junction 2 on the A3M in Hampshire. As the old cockney phrase goes "It's a fair cop, guv, you've got me bang to rights". |

They had obviously seen me speed under the bridge at a vast rate of knots, rushed off down the slip road, and tailed me for long enough to get a reading before I saw them and they stopped me. By that time I was rapidly slowing down, but they damn well knew I had been going faster than that. Broke the law, hands up, take the rap. Lucky they didn't have a radar gun on that bridge ..... |

Ah, but knowing the roads & where the static cameras are as well as the mobile cops with their radar guns helps tremendously... :) My favourite is the A143...lovely speedsters road especially after Diss.....Ah pure heaven especially in a non restricted lorry! As for breaking laws/rules/regs, the crash yesterday morning on the M62 between a lorry & minibus has me puzzled! 21 passengers? Minibuses are only 16 seaters + driver. anything else is a bus. So........... ..they arrest the lorry driver? |

Motorway speed limit is about 2750 rpm in top gear.....my engine rpm was a touch over 6500! I can't get 'nicked' for giving my engine speed! Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Blimey a fast lady! 747's have a V2 rotate speed of about 180-200 mph!! About 10 years ago I bought a 9 month old Mondeo 1.8, with 15K on the clock. So one day down the A3M seeing a clear road behind and in front, put my foot down to see what it would do, took it up momentarily to 110 mph and then went back to 70 mph. A couple of minutes later I saw the cop car tailing me, followed me off my junction and then put on the blues and two's. Excuse me sir, do you know what speed you were doing back there, I said oh about 80'ish I expect. He said come with me, and I sat in their passenger seat with this massive speedometer showing 94 mph! I said blimey as fast as THAT! He said yup, its so easy in these modern cars to not realise how fast you are going! I said where did you come from, I didn't see you? He said we were parked on one of the bridges when we saw you go past underneath! By the way Sir you are lucky, you'll probably get 3 licence points and a £60 fine, had you been going over 100 mph you'd have lost your licence for a year! Yes Sir, thankyou Sir, I'll be more careful in future .... My little Z3 has a book speed of 127 mph, but I've only taken it up to a 100 mph once in 5 years. But my gosh it was rock solid and raring to give more, uh uh, no way :-) |

May I ask as to how often, broken? Don't forget, that in Essex, white van drivers only get 'pulled' for having a brake light not working...not for speeding or driving like a maniac! Will admit to travelling along the M4 at a speed similar to that, at which jet air-liners might take off at! Perhaps. Maybe. At 3.30 in the morning, no-one around and I was on a mission and no conversations as follows. Under certain circumstances, officer. It is there, in the official Honda literature, that it will only do 133 or was it 137. It was definitely speedometer error.....must've been. Yours too?! The car is 20 years old for God's sake! Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Anything to do with motoring or roads will be a law or regulation, the others are mainly anti social or bad manners. Things also change with time. 10 years ago I would have had no problem telling a young yob to take his feet off a seat in a bus or train, these days He'd be 50% likely to pull a knife on me. Cycling on pavements is usually against a local Council by-law, very difficult to enforce in practice. |

Interesting list. I bet the top 20 is different in every country or even every one of the USA's 50 states. The "California stop" didn't make the list there, but would be near the top here.

I don't mind the long runs as a change is as good as a rest, so they say. Guys like him always manages to bring back some loads they failed to deliver & use the old chesnut "Out of driving time". It's why they always take the long way round instead of the most direct route possible. It's also why I started saying no to extra runs. Should've been leaving for work in 30 min, instead the Redcar run won't be loaded till 1pm so I'll be lucky if I'm back before 10pm & that depends on how quick I get unloaded. He would be crapping himself if he could read my thoughts at the moment...... |

Yeah & I hate them with a vengeance! Supposed to have been on a Banbury run today, instead I've got to do a Redcar run which they won't allow him to do as its an urgent delivery. I'll do it in approx. 9 hrs total whereas he'll take 12. Was looking forward to getting home this afternoon around 4.... :( |
