Why must you link to that rag of a website?

A story about a madman possibly hacking a soldier to death and the right side bar is talking about a possible "wardrobe malfunction" and TOWIES jetting off to Marbella!! Scroll down to read the story and it gets worse!!

That website says so much about what is wrong with the press and the country.

"Forgive me my Lord, I knew not what I did"

Corrected Link

or would you much prefer this one?

Message 1370745 - Posted: 22 May 2013, 21:59:45 UTC

I listened to LBC, reporting on this murder in London, at around 2.30 pm, which was barely even mentioned on BBC Radio 2 by 4.30 pm. A "madman possibly hacking a soldier to death"? There was no possibly about it and nor was there a madman. Yet again, a viper was amongst us...no doubt, fed, watered, housed - quite possibly 'protected' by this country as well as clothed, by 'public funds' and allowed to do as he/they please, by a political elite who continually tell us, how we should think, whilst they are insulated from the results of their myopia, by their political 'blinkers'. Calling these people 'mad-men' is simply trying to make excuses for them, when there is none!

Patience and tolerance? Don't make me laugh. As per many in this country, I've had my nose rubbed in my patience and tolerance and had my purse emptied to add to the insult! As of today, that patience and tolerance no longer exists in me! Right now, I'd even vote for a political party that makes UKIP look like the PTA at the local primary school! I seriously doubt that I'm alone in these sentiments and thoughts; not by a long chalk. If these vipers amongst us, want a damned fight...they've probably now got one and far more than they reckoned on. Multi-culturalism is yet another failed experiment, forced down people's throats. Long may it rot in Hell.

Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive!

+1

What many civilians tend to forget is the Armed Forces are taught SAA (Skill at Arms) & are continuously drilled at both the Skill & Safety of weapon handling.

It's now time to have all serving personnel that are on active duty to return to carrying their personal weapons with them at all times.

Had that guy done so, there would now be 2 dead terrorists instead of a serving soldier.

Took police 20 minutes to arrive? Good job then they weren't suicide bombers!

This England

This royal throne of kings, this scepter’d isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England,

How it is today

Oh, this green and pleasant land,
Its clear blue seas and golden sands.
Its rolling hills and wooded vales,
Its constant rain and howling gales.

Its cottages with picket fence,
Two Dobermans as self defense.
Ivy growing round the door,
With signs to keep away the poor.

The inner cities with their malls,
Tower blocks with grimy halls.
Lifts where addicts urinate,
Graffiti'd walls that spell out hate.

Railway arches dark and damp,
Is where the disenfranchised camp.
The 'working-girls' patrol their patch,
In hopes of drunken 'johns' to catch.

But in the suburbs, quiet rules,
The middle classes are not fools,
They leave the rich and poor to fight,
And draw their curtains for the night.

Oh, this green and pleasant land..........

Austerity Rules HURRAH!

Good post. However, the police were informed that that there were weapons involved including a gun. Still took 20 minutes for Armed Police to arrive as Woolwich Police were already at the scene.

Edit: Troops up to 1967 always had their personal weapon with them, even on different postings. It was stopped due to IRA shenanigans unfortunately.

Also, the Military's motto has always been Shoot First, Ask Questions later as it should be as they are NOT police officers!

Edit 2: All Paras that served in Northern Ireland during the Bloody Sunday period are permitted to carry a personal weapon at all times, even after their discharge. They are civilians now so cannot see why serving personnel cannot carry theirs!

An eyewitness reported that he was driving past & initially thought they were attempting to help him....

..on driving past he saw differently & parked up, called police & informed them of the weapons & what was going down.

So, the statement that police were not aware of the seriousness is unfounded.

Edit: It'll be interesting to hear the telephone tape logs.

Agreed, but we need our troops to be armed at all times.....

"He added, in the video obtained by ITV News: 'Remove your governments - they don't care about you. You think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street when we start bursting our guns? You think politicians are going to die?"

....that's why. All troops will be targeted & they are trained professionals in the handling & use of weapons. If our so called politicians do not think so, just why are the troops in combat?

Edit: Damning evidence of police actions.....

"Most witnesses sent messages via the Twitter social networking site and Facebook, while others contributed to internet forums and newspaper websites.

Scotland Yard was left mute, impotently saying that an ‘assault’ had taken place in Woolwich and they were investigating."

When I first read the post about this I had not watched the news but after watching the news and seeing who they where I knew I was right about the first thought that came into my head . When you's said there was a machete involved I thought of Uganda I was hoping I was just a bigot but sadly I was not . They need to screen people from that part of the world and if exposed to that sort of violence then maybe they should not allow them to enter unless they are having some sort of on going counselling as it leaves scares that may never go away , we have had a simular incident here but wasn't a terrorist thing it was just between there own people , luckily nobody was killed but they still got out the knifes and machetes , I feel sorry for the family of the soldier .

Which is why until their discharge, they should be armed at all times.

Once these nutters realise that they're going up against an armed professional, they'll think twice.

I can see more of this happening as A Qaeda seem to be moving in to Africa just look what the French have had to do over there . A lot of African Countries are already Muslim Countries . Poor countries with little or no education is where Al Qaeda seem to go as a tacktic easy to take over and cause trouble for every one in the west

I think Chris unlike the States where everyone has a gun toting madness attitude maybe it is time the bobbies carried guns like over here we are not gun crazy , I do think there would be a case for the bobbies to start carrying weapons . Would be sad to see that it's come to that but for public safety things must change sometimes .

Which is why until their discharge, they should be armed at all times.

If any more off duty armed forces personnel are targetted there may be a case for that for self protection. Shoot first, ask questions afterwards, is the rule in combat, which both sides practice, it's a very difficult transition to the nations streets with civilians. So all those in the area yesterday were forces personnel from various nations then

Once these nutters realise that they're going up against an armed professional, they'll think twice.

Yes they will, and start carrying arms themselves. But at the same time you can't leave armed forces without any means of personal protection in the face of threats. Was this soldier personally targeted days beforehand, or as the attack happened close to a barracks, did they just pick on the first one they saw coming out? When you are up against crazed religious extremists there isn't any rhyme, reason, or rules. Was this just a one-off, or are more of the same being planned? For Christ's sake, wake up man. They went looking for soldiers! So it's ok for service personnel to fight & die for this country but they're not allowed to protect themselves? 9/11 & 7/7 has shown that combat zones are no longer on desert battlefields with hardly any civilians in the way

In a lot of ways this is similar to the Japanese Kamikaze (God Wind)(Actually, it means Divine Wind) pilots of WWII. I am happy to die for the cause and the honour of my country. How do you effectively deal with fanatics like that? that's easy, fight by their rules & watch terrorism end swiftly!

Maybe it's time to have a couple of the police in each station with guns , all our police carry guns and Tasers

Police in the UK are not routinely armed whilst on duty, they are a civilian force not a para-military one. But yes they do have access to tasers which are being increasingly used in incidents. There is a system of fast response by armed officers from SO19 that are specially trained in many types of firearms. They are out on patrol 24/7 with HQ backup, and can usually attend an incident within a few minutes in London. I still think we need to assess whether this incident is a one off, or the beginning of a new wave of terrorist based attacks. At present there are no plans to recall Parliament for the Home Secretary to make a statement.

Over reacting? Until 1967 all service personnel were issued with their personal weapon & it remained with them wherever they located to.

What changed?

Difficult to accept? It's a well known fact that Paras who served in Northern Ireland in 1972 are carrying handguns even though they are now civilians.

WHY?

& what's different to what happened yesterday?

I could understand them using machetes if they where from Africa and been there in England most of there life but to be born there and use that type of way boggles the mind

Chris I will disagree with you about Africans using machetes . If they come From Rwanda , Sudan , Congo , Nigeria , Uganda and any other place in Africa where there has been decades of war then you find children are taken and forced to be kid soldiers it is part of there training to use machetes as it is more frighting and shocking . If you have seen Ross Kemps doco's about the fighting in the Congo and surrounding country's there was a interview with a ex boy soldier whom was now a man whom had killed dozens of people and he said that is what they are tought to do , to be brutal to put fear into the people . Don't take me the wrong way , i'm only talking about those whom have had to do that sort of thing or may have been killed them self's but he also said it does stuff up your mind and you never get over it , all though he was trying to live a better life . That's why I can't understand what these guys did if they where born in England they have never seen that sort of thing , and why I said I could understand them killing the solder that way but not these two .

In the past, whenever something serious occurred, & the authorities wanted the information withheld, there was the D-notice sent to the media.

Unfortunately, that has fallen by the wayside due to modern technology: - Mobile Phones, Internet etc....

...that's pretty hard to lock down.

What I find disturbing is: -

If we were to monitor and track all movements of anyone ever seen holding a placard at a radical rally, we would have to quadruple the size of the security services.

With no modern technology as we have today, it's truly amazing that our security services were 1st class during 1939 - 1945 with most spies either turned or hanged.

What changed?
