+1

However, it shouldn't be business as normal as the business is corrupt - it needs reforming ASAP!

MPs may get £10k pay rise: But they say: 'It's not snouts in the trough - if you pay peanuts you get monkeys'

So we gather, it's what we've being saying about them for years. They need to be
a bit more careful on how they choose their words...I'd say!!

Industry and the like have never like the high level of labour cost's in the UK
for it has made our industries un-competitive. Governments of past have remedied
this for for them by allowing immigrants to flood the country who don't mind being paid
peanuts for their services. Has the government opened itself up to the accusation
that they have been allowing monkeys in to flood the countries labour markets then.
The Kite Fliers

Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet
belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes.

& to increase the funding without having to hit the taxpayer too hard is to : -

Reform the Tax Laws
Reform the Civil Service
Create an "Untouchables" division to root out corruption

& before Sir Humphrey butts in saying it is getting done.... It's not fast enough - the technology is available, the people are available, but the government are procrastinating - I wonder why?

A shocking case that highlights the points made & now made more shocking: -

There are too many like Sir Humphrey who emphasise that they are never wrong. There got where they are due to hard work with thorough understanding of the rules & regulations (that those of their ilk put there in the 1st place without any real understanding of the real world).

They look down their "snotty" little noses at those who work at ground level - the grunts of the Emergency Services, the Armed Forces & others.

When those grunts show up their inadequacies, they get annoyed (that's putting it mildly!) & go out of their way to cover up their sins.

Some time later (in this country, often many years later) those grunts are finally proven right. The snotty's well trodden answer?

We'll make recommendations to see that it doesn't happen again. Had they done the job they were paid to do in the 1st place, most of the problems would not have been so shocking with many stating that we're all only human & mistakes are made.

"A fleet of ambulances was parked outside the football ground, but crews and emergency equipment were not sent inside.

Tony Edwards, who was on board one of the few ambulances that entered the ground, said: "I always think in terms of a rail accident. Could you imagine the public outcry if all ambulance crews remained on an embankment simply because they couldn't get the ambulance down to the scene of the accident?

"That doesn't happen. They get out of their vehicles and if that's the length of a football pitch, they have to go, they make their way there.""

IMV, this answers your question. A glaring error on the day. Had they entered, who knows how many could have been saved.

The excuse that the film was too disturbing to be broadcast is pure B******T!

Had it been shown, the compensation lawyers would have had a field day & I'm pretty damned certain, someone in authority was aware of that!

Which only goes to highlight what happened 124 days later!

HMSO's Investigation into the Clapham Junction Railway Accident Report

An interesting report which states many issues already covered in these political threads.

Also, as the report highlighted, it was technical faults that caused the accident - faults of a human nature not equipment!

I've said it before & I'll continue stating it: -

"We've lost our professionalism" Now it's the fastest/shortest time possible for the maximum of profit - See Figures 15 & 16 in the report.

While that attitude remains, incidents such as the ones mentioned, will continue to occur!

& the "Snotty's" will continue with their well trodden replies

Well done Panorama! Another good job of investigative journalism. However BBC, that won't let you off the hook! WHY did you lock that film away for 24 years? The current excuse is unacceptable.

The final comment was superb: -

3 important institutions, The Police, The Judiciary & The Government conspired to cover it up!

What say you now Sir Humphrey? Will you state that's in the past so let's move on or will you vilify me again for rubbishing your country?

For which you still cannot read & understand your own language (then again, maybe if I'd written in Welsh, you might have!) - I've never rubbished this once proud nation only the muppets purporting to be in charge of it!

sidenote: - 23 million documents, numerous inquiries, immense cost to taxpayers & still no one with the courage to admit they got it wrong!

Oh dear, did I actually call this a great nation? Must've been legless on too much rum!

Just WTH is "Suburbanised"?

A citizen putting back into the community only for the Broads Authority to threaten prosecution......

......"was in conversation with the Broads Authority about doing the work and they didn't mention it. They told me it was a different department responsible - I thought it was a scene straight out of Yes Minister."

Ministre, votre réponse s'il vous plait

On a personal note Mr Pooley, absolutely well done. Know the Broads fairly well, thanks for opening it up once again.

There is no argument between the Broads Authority and the landowner, far from it, but the Authority has to protect itself from prosecution if they fail in turn to protect designated wetlands. What has happened here is a combination of a naive landowner and over burdensome legislation. But of course another top notch human interest story for the tabloids, who don't want the truth to get in the way.

Really now, is that all you can come up with? Then please explain why it was left to rot & ruin for the past 40 odd years?

Oh my sainted aunt, so 3 years ago was a blip on your radar then was it?

I did state earlier that I know the broads fairly well - that section was going to "rack & ruin" close to 50 years my son!

I've always had you put down as a bit of a red under the bed anyway.

Think you need to correct your statement Boyo!

Oh my sainted aunt, so 3 years ago was a blip on your radar then was it?

Highly subversive actions wouldn't you say? Oh well that's to be expected from a Wolf in Sheep's clothing! & sorry to say, you're too old in the tooth to change your spots, & your posts since your return does nothing to change that view.

Well now at least we know that is your personal opinion and not an official view

So you're the Prime Minister of the Seti Board are you? Didn't you mean to say IMV? Or do you still hold to your dictatorial subversive views of the past?

Naw, won't happen Glenn. He's a Europhile & according to their rules & regs, a Euro citizen can't be deported :)

One only has to trawl through his posts to find that he ignores serious issues raised in reports posted & attacks the poster instead.

That's nothing new as the political class of this country has been doing that for 300 years - why do you think he's entered politics?

Shame he's picked a dead horse to back!

Coalition will last says the 2 C's

"But he said the government would focus exclusively on "big picture" issues such as the economy from now on." SO the last 3 years were spent doing what exactly?

Coalition split on Lobbying

Hmmn, I wonder why?

Joyce arrested AGAIN

I'm one of you says Del-boy

Yep, quite agree - A Fat Pig supping from an overflowing trough!

Definitely an overflowing trough!

Why must you link to that rag of a website?

A story about a madman possibly hacking a soldier to death and the right side bar is talking about a possible "wardrobe malfunction" and TOWIES jetting off to Marbella!! Scroll down to read the story and it gets worse!!

That website says so much about what is wrong with the press and the country.
