But the installers are not there? As far as I recall, the installers were taken down quite some time ago do to legal concerns involving, I believe, GPL and the Intel compilers used to create some of the optimized applications. It is anticipated that new installers may be once again made available when the new v7 multibeam apps move from beta to main on Seti. Anybody more directly involved at Lunatics, please correct me if this is not accurate. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

But the installers are not there? Correct on the reason why they're not there. Replacement applications are being worked on, but the precise timing and sequence of events is still very much up in the air. We have to juggle writing/testing a complete set of apps: the transfer of v7 from Beta to Main: assorted googlies being bowled at us in the form of driver updates and changes: and finally packaging it all together in an installer. News as we get it. Meanwhile, on the subject of the Lunatics website. The site itself is fine, and has remained up and running continuously: there are no plans to change or move it. The only problem was with the internet signposting system which guides you to it. That seems to be resolving itself slowly - I can reach lunatics.kwsn.net and www.kwsn.net normally now, though I'm still having difficulty reaching stats.kwsn.net |

My home ISP still hasn't picked up the new IP. No new IP - nothing has changed. It's just the DNS record which gives your browser the IP address which is missing. |

I think a thread of 92 posts is about more than just one person, just one ISP, and just one country. |

Since it has been about 48 hours after it was renewed I would expect most DNS servers have picked the domain back up by now. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I know this will be a stupid question but I keep reading about this Lunatics thingy and went to the site but The Windows apps are on a separate site run by jason_gee. http://jgopt.org/download.html Make sure you read the readme file as they are not "plug and play" T.A. |

I know this will be a stupid question but I keep reading about this Lunatics thingy and went to the site but The facilitated manual install is also only designed to drop into an existing Lunatics install - at time of design we were blissfully ignorant of the licensing issues. Shoehorning an optimised app into a stock install isn't for the faint of heart. Even I would probably have to spend at least half an hour to get a working app_info.xml with stock for CPU and optimised for GPU. No, I don't feel like doing one from scratch and posting it. Yes, x41zc is far superior to 6.10 but it's far less hassle to use app_config.xml for multiple tasks for the time being and wait for V7 and the next installer. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

Hi all Since the installers are disabled how does one incorporate AP6_win_x86_SSE_CPU_r1797 ver 0.40 in Boinc? I'm not a computer guru and am having hard time with .7z file uncompressing. Simply put what do I do with files after de/un compressed? I know most of you are much more familiar with it than I am. Thank you. |

Mr Jeep - assuming you are running windows 7: The extracted files need to go into the folder C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu In the same folder you need to have a file called "app_info.xml", which must be based on the extracted .aistub file(s) - you need to edit this file to suit your system, and what S@H applications you want to run.
