Beta runs over the same line.
Eric cancelled all (MB) work on Tuesday, so there will have been a lot of extra tasks going out while hosts refilled their cache.
Not sure it would amount to that much extra load though, but would explain why no shortage was felt on Main.
Or a lot of data was shifted off the servers...

NB the sharp drops are from a bandwidth usage far above the normal load, so it's most likely 'something else'.

Thanks for the insight...
I always compare the Cricket graphs to what is going on at Seti main and what my rigs are witnessing.
It never occurred to me that Beta would have an impact, because it has always been said that very few participated there. Perhaps this has changed as of late.

Splitter output has declined even further.
For a while now, it's been struggling to produce 30/s, now it's barely producing 20/s. When the next batch of shorties come through, we'll be out of work in no time.

However, ready to send has not been dropping, and the boyz in da lab did add one more pfb splitter.
So, the hope is that when the next shorty storm ensues, things will ramp back up.

Ready to send buffer is shrinking, splitters still stumbling along at only 20/s.

OOO NOO.......
Not WU deprivation on the horizon.

The outlook does not look pretty right now.

Last time this happened and things crashed, Eric told me the download directories had filled to capacity due to the number of WUs in play, and that was the cause of the sudden stop in work going out.

I hope we are not headed there again.

And right on cue, the shorties are back. All those 21/22/23/24 ap11 tapes, plus 24jl11 - let's hope 25se11 has something to chew on.

Oh happy days. They've just added a ton of AP files to the splitters. As of now, life feels much better :-)

Ah yes....

Yes, but I'm starting to worry again. Only 14 AP channels left to do. I wish there could be a steady flow of AP's, in the same way that there is for MB's.

I know of course that will never happen, taking into consideration the different sizes of AP and MB units, and that they are being split from the same files. However, one can always dream.....:-)

I see 181 AP channels to do ;)

On another note: I hope that at some convenient time (perhaps during maintenance), some kind person would put tape 01oc11aa out of its misery. Then we'd get two extra MB splitters back into productive use.....

3 PFB splitters aren't running, but apparently 4 still are. And the output from those splitters- less than 2/s. Should be out of work in a matter of hours if it doesn't come back to life in that time.

If you have a gander at the Cricket graph, it would appear the the uploading of more data to split to the servers started about an hour and a half ago.
Hopefully that shall start to replenish things before too long.

No use having any splitters running at all, when there are no files left to split, at least not for MB.

The 01oc11aa file has been hangning at 4 for ages now. Nothing good comes out of that one.

I've just emailed the staff about that one. (About 8 minutes before your post, actually)

Cheers.

As of right now, no tapes to be split for MB, and RTS is 0. Hmmmmmm...panic?

Glad to see that there's more data being split.
Disappointed that the splitters are getting slower & slower as time goes by.

Hmmmm...
Although it appears data has been being transferring to the servers since early on today...
We are now down to what's left of 2 datasets splitting at the moment.

Wondering if the new ones will be ready before the bottom drops out.

Meowsigh.....oh, well. I'll be gone to bed soon and shall just have to see what happened when I get up in the morning.

There hasn't been a shortage of AP work lately.

Why is that? (Considering that the ratio MB/AP for a tape is unchanged)

Wow.. so somebody really doesn't like APs on their GPU..

I always look and see why I get tasks that are not _0 or _1. Found that one.
