Watch Me, Now With cross-cut saw, I cut off a one-foot section of four-by, Douglas Fir. It smells good, and reminds me of times in Washington and Oregon. Taking a seven-thirty-seconds drill bit, and crimping it into my son's drill, I drill thirty-four holes. Capping it with two, white cedar shakes, via four brass wood-screws, another native bee-house has been created. It will be screwed onto a six-foot metal stake, with two stainless-steel wood screws and matching washers. Then, I'll give it away to those who would like to try their hand at beefriending nature. Would you like me to build you one? Parcel-post will ship the house, you must buy the stake. Let me know. It wood be a pleasure. Just think: Thirty-four holes-in-one! * * jm 12 June 2014 |

Your Picture A thousand words, you've sent to me. A thousand times, you've given me -- Your picture. There have been no surprises. Your picture, matches, your words. Poignancy, and beauty. Inter-relationships, built on beautiful words.. * * * jm 13 June 2014 |

Thanks, ladies. There is a SETI-ZEN called Jim whose way with words is just so in! So Annie-tee reads them in wonder then invariably she pens a blunder For limericks are not the way, to emulate a poet they say. :) Yep... it happened again... :) Let's try once more... Velvet paws soft-step through night Eyes gleam soft-Shhhhh... let's not take fright A distant drum, a heartbeat, purrs Then something very strange occurs Black and warm, a weight descends... The cat is on my face again. :) Edit: Started well I think, but then fell apart. Must try harder! |

A few lines, if I may, on behalf of Julie (Ref., James' Puns O Fun 4) Four Letters Help me, help me, if you can.. The world of numbers, I would ban. The bills are large, my savings, small. The Euro loves me, not, at all. Add, subtract -- I've tried them both. Either way, it's me, they loath. One word, of course, I love to hear: Four letters, yes -- but, it spells, BEER! * * jm 16 June 14 |

Pauses Why does beautiful music rely heavily on pauses? Show me a beautiful, yes, poignant, life -- and, I'll show you pauses -- Whether they are for an instant, or, for a lifetime. * * jm 16 June 14 |

News_Flash We're getting ready, now, to dig each other's grave. A shovel-full for everyone who thinks he's big, and brave. We'll solve our problems simply -- from end, of pointed gun. United Nations chatter, is not for everyone. From Ural Mountains, green, to China Sea, most blue -- An olive-branch, that's offered, is offered, by a fool. We're better dead, than Red -- decapitate, them all. A WWIII would end the global-warming's call. * * * jm 21 June 2014 |

Purification We do not want variety. We only care for purity. We'll purge the world of unclean thoughts. Eternity, for us, is bought -- With blood, and tears; no love, is taught. The sword is mightier than pen. A place, for woman -- under men. Purity -- a goal, of old. But, we will win -- So we've been told. * * * jm 30 June 2014 |

SayWeCanFly Welcome to where time stands still No one leaves and no one will The Moon is full, never seems to change Just labeled mentally deranged I dream the same thing every night and see our freedom in my sight No locked doors, no windows barred, no things to make my brain seem scarred Built my fear of what's out there, and I cannot breathe the open air. God whispers things into my brain, assuring me that I'm insane. And 'they' think our heads are in their hands, but violent use brings violent plans. 'Keep him tight, it makes him well. He's getting better, can't you tell?' Sleep my friend and you will see, that dream is my reality. They keep me locked up in this cage, can't they see that's why my brain says rage? No more can they keep us in, listen, dammit, we will win! They see it right, they see it well, but they think this will save us from our hell. Fear of living on, natives getting restless now. Mutiny in the air, got some death to do Mirror stares back hard, kill, it's such a friendly word Seems the only way for reaching out again. DJ 2014 Music Pictures |

Thank you Julie :) Wish I'd read it before tackling the milk carton though - seems so apt *sigh* and would have given me something intelligible to roar throughout... :) And thank you too Jim for your last poem - crashed out of SETI before I got a chance to say anything :) |

Great poem, about where you work, Julie! ;o) (The wink is for you, too, Anniet.) Perhaps, we poets could get together, at O'Rourke's, in Pawtuxet, for a beer-and-poetry session, one fine day. |

A Time to Contemplate As we -- my pooch, and me -- dip paddles into stream, life's metaphors pass by our commonality. We ask for naught. * jm 8/14 |
