Good catch, Julie. * All 'round the Table Some words, of cheer, sent 'cross the pond -- as Turkey-Day draws near. With apple pie, and, glasses, high -- we count our blessings, for the year. Our tables' sound with stories, told; our friendships are true harvest's gold. Although not here -- a toast, to you! * jim |

Reunions An eerie call, through ghostly wood . . . A biting wind, stirred needle-surf. A faint reply, from distant hill. Soft notes did fall, but, carried well. A perch, regained . . . Reunions, of a different kind. * * * jrm 29 Nov. 2013 |

Tracks in Snow Snow's exposure, of daily activities, has its limitations -- no tracks appear, between Wall Street, and Washington, D.C. Their presence, however, can be detected in people's savings accounts. * * * jrm 30 Nov. 2013 |

Wings A giant computer-mobile is pushing us all towards a cliff. And, nobody knows how to alter its course. However, we are confident that we can assemble the wings, on the way down. * * * jm 8 Dec. 2013 |

But, change will come. . . * In Unity we Trust That which has divided us, will, after increasing our separation, reunite us, once again. * jm 11 Dec. 2013 |

The Moth and The Flame A light in the woods, on table, it stood -- a candle, enabling end-of-day's book. A fuzzy, brown moth, hypnotized, by its dance -- whirled round, and around, completely entranced. The flame was alive, it was beconing him. It urged him: "Fly closer." "The swift, enter in." No heed, did he pay, to the corpses, that lay. * * * jm 17 Dec. 2013 |

Christmas Eve, in Santa's Workshop 'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through Santa's workshop -- the elves were on ipads, with orders to amazon.com. No drudge-work, or sack -- nor, dealing with snow. Santa's list, was a hack; his pass-word: "Ho-Ho." At best, push some squares, and, at worst, thumb some lines. Then, sit back, and text -- tell the kiddies, they're fine. No Santa, they'd dread. He'd be texting, in bed. * * * jm 18 Dec. 2013 |

Dream Sequence # 10 From across the big pond two eyes stare at me They talk to me in complete silence A strange feeling comes from deep inside Can I see what others can see? Can I feel what others can feel? Can I hear without sound? Can I read without words? The joy and lust The pain and anger Our souls seem connected in space We search for purity, romance, friendship and trust A quest for life with no boundaries The twin souls we always can rely on Their words and laughter give me joy We share tears and smiles Both from the heart and soul A circle and dot pure and simple Will connect us for life As we know it DJ (2013) rOZZ Music Pictures |

Beautiful, Julie. It's sad, that the best poetry is ofttimes based on the tragedies. |

Easy Come, Easy Go Life's a 'coaster, so, don't cry -- buy 'em low, sell 'em high. Dump your gold, check out rye. What you pawn -- others buy. When land's cheap, purchase soil. What you reap -- others' toil. Land, of pain. Land, of gain. * * * jm 20 Dec. 2013 |

Rhythm & Rhyme What do you want to read? Froth? Happiness? or, Everything. What do you want to see and hear? Sports, with a beer? Is it escape you want? Then, don't read poems. Rhythm and Rhyme are, basically, for children. * * * jm 20 Dec. 2013 |

I think, Julie, the word "poignant" should have been used. I'm not a stranger, to that; perhaps, you are not, either. |

The sounds that kitties make on Christmas Eve are not like sounds you would believe. They growl and snarl, know something's going on.. Kitties on Christmas eve, they know it's an event. When kitties do something quite like this. The kitties know something special is happening. They do this every year at this time. No reason, no rhyme. Just a little disturbance in their force. They do not know the Christ child is coming, only their special bowl of kibble. Many of you are like the kitties........... Only wishing for your next bowl of kibbles, and never minding the Lord, even when he nibbles At your very soul. Wake up, my friends, the Lord has been born. He shall take your sins and pain away. He can do it this very fine day.. Amen, my Lord, Amen. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

(Natural history in Dublin) On the step stones at the door of the museum of the natural history I saw a moment to last. A new couple making their first kiss. That's what I call -- now -- a thing in the past. (From real life - My thoughts at the scene when visiting Dublin with our pupils aged 13-15.) An offering, on winter day -- * A Line, Cast Far I had no luck, with any bait. Not a ripple, on the lake. No boat, to try a farther spot. Rugged shore-line -- couldn't walk. I did not want to call it quits. Not, without, at least, one hit. And, no one else, to share the view. Fishing's nature -- for the few. In desperation, one last cast. . . It arced beyond the reeds, at last. While slowly reeling in my "Ike", It took a hit, from lazing pike. With sun, now set, and long past time, Success assured -- the ending, mine. With motive, bared -- An ending, shared. * * * jm 23 Dec. 2013 |
