You Diluting Thing You Are

You diluting thing you are,
You go in real from far to far.
Give me your fire,
You diluting thing you are.
Are you real,
And go far to far?
You gotta get the heart in the fire,
Got to get the fire in the heart.

You diluting thing you are,
You go in real from far to far.
You go in real and take that star.
Are you real,
And go that far?
You gotta get the heart in the fire,
Got to get the fire in the heart.

Stay real,
You diluting thing you are.

Let Me See

Oh, let me see!
Ooh, let me see.
Lord, let me see.
Oooooh
Oh, let me see.
Lord, let me see.
Let me see!
Well well now, let me see,
Let me see,
Lord, let me see.
Oooooh
Let me see,
Lord, let me see.

Tattoos and Cell Phones

Tattoos and cell phones.
The new crop is here.
Don't identify?
Good-by.

You join the Greatest,
the Silent,
the Boomers,
the Millennials.

What persists?
Nothing,
except, history . . .

It repeats.

The Last Song

It was heard
by the last inhabitants,
and was an appropriate
ending of a planetary civilization.

The Planet's
dry lightning storms
drowned out
the poignant finale.

Its ecological citizens,
also, not spared,
had no choice;
they had to suffer
in terrified silence,
as they did not know how to cry.

But, the cosmos could cry --
and, it did.
And, it was beautiful,
in the way only
a tragic cry
can be conveyed.

*

We should, then,
listen to the cosmos . . .
and listen for the
tragic cries.

"This Might Be Year To Go To Mars"

I don’t need a reason
like I needed one before
the earth I know is tired
from far too many wars
all the nervous humor
is getting tired and old
I can see it coming
and I don’t have to be told

this might be
yes this might be
as good a time
as there will ever be
I’d like to see
if I could go that far
this might be my year to go to mars

changes blur the seasons
from what they were before
the places I remember
are just pictures on the floor
I won’t try to deny it
the warm that should be cold
I can see it coming
and I don’t have to be told

this might be
yes this might be
as good a time
as there will ever be
I’d like to see
if I could go that far
this might be my year to go to mars

they ask me why
I say why not
there come’s a day
to fly away
from everything you’ve got

this might be
yes this might be
as good a time
as there will ever be
I’d like to see
if I could go that far
this might be my year to go to mars

Question

How many people
might it take,
to sink a lifeboat?

Friend From Afar

You're pretty cloud,
Floating around in a void
With the other clouds,
Surrounding our rock,
That holds on to our universe

*Gebroken nagel aan mijn doodskist,
Blijft bestaan*

We are the people on that thing
You can't see from afar.

HEY!
Did I once meet you,
You friend from afar.
I'm too heavy for you.
I can only see you in the light,
Surrounding our planet.

HEY! WAKE UP!
Friend on that thing,
They can't see from afar.

That Man

Ooh I'm gonna tells ye
'bout a man
Who went to church
Every Sunday.

Who saw the real thing
And kept on living
As if nothing was going on.

Oh yeah that man, I tells ye,
He went to church every Sunday.

And no lump of wood, no chopping of wood
Was too heavy for his axe.

I'm gonna tells ye alright,
He went to church every Sunday
As if nothing
Was going on.

Who said I'd killed him,
Was a fool, was a fool.

Oh Lord I tells ye,
That man.

Let It Be

Why let the tuesome in the sky,
Just let it be.
Why hurt the lonely God,
Just let it be
You’re making all these noises,
Just let it be
I don’t need to hear cars
In my street anymore,
Just let it be.
I tell you firmly
Just let it be
The tuesome in the sky
Can’t help it
To be little.
Just let it be,
Just let it be.

I don't know if this has ever been entered, but . . . here goes --

Lives

Lives,
bursting into joyous
consanguinities --

as with
plainsong
in a cathedral of stone --
echoing into exquisite harmonies.

Lives,
showering into
lonely trajectories --
sobbing with poignant memories..

Each begins
with a plainsong --
and,
ends with the same.

The Solid Foundation

We're standing on a solid foundation,
The Lord Of Creation.

We're fighting our own wars, yeah our own wars.
We're seeing our own stars, yeah our own stars.

The Lord Of Creation, the solid foundation.

The stars will show you, yeah they will show you.

The solid foundation, the Lord Of Creation.

We can see it from afar afar,
The war that kills our only star.

From afar afar afar

The solid foundation, the Lord Of Creation.

Hello Is What It Takes

Life is like a rainbow,
We go with the flow.
One colour meets another one,
Hello is what it takes.

Space sounds like our smiles,
We go on for miles and miles,
One wind meets another one,
Hello is what it takes.

Will the dried up clay
In the bloomy month of May,
Meet with the rain in the sky?
Hello is what it takes.

A person, walking in the street,
With hunger and cold cold feet,
Meets the stranger at a distance.
Hello is what it takes.

The lion guards the gate
Of wisdom, courage and fate.
One hero meets another one.
Hello is what it takes.

A person opens a door,
A gate to the second floor.
One look meets another one.
Hello is what it takes.

Friendly Strangers

As a child,
my world was always populated
with smiling, friendly strangers --
mostly older ladies, and, some older men.

They seemed pleased to see me,
and other youngsters,
on busses and trolly cars,
and on the street.

And, now, it is my dwindling generation
who is smiling.

I wonder --

Do we smile as much,
as those did,
before us?

Perhaps . . .

Yerushalaim

Oh, Yerushalaim.....

Will there be peace
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be love
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be freedom
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be wisdom
In Yerushalaim?

Rocking boat Yerushalaim.
Sinking ship Yerushalaim.
Last person in Yerushalaim.
Lost me in Yerushalaim.

The train stops at Yerushalaim.
Djah found his Yerushalaim.
Rocking boat Yerushalaim.
Djah saves the ship of Yerushalaim.

Will there be courage
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be strength
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be hope
In Yerushalaim?
Will there be faith
In Yerushalaim?

Rocking boat Yerushalaim.
Lost me in Yerushalaim.

PAIN

Will this pain ever stop?
Will we ever know the truth?

A car passes by and asks the same.

Will this pain ever stop?
Will this pain ever stop?

The car hits me with the truth,
Oooh no, oooh yeah.

Will this pain ever stop?
Will this pain ever stop?

This Is A Love Song

This is a love song,
Oooh this is a love song.
Clouds passing by
And showing me your love,
Because this is a love song,
Oooh this is a love song.

The moonshine tells me,
Oooh it tells me,
Yes, this is a love song,
Oooh this is a love song.

The sunshine smiles at me,
You know why...You know why?

Because this is a love song,
This is a love song.
Oh yeah, alright.

This is a love song,
Oh this is a love song.

For Janice

So! It's said
you pen, in rhyme.
Prose! It's dead.
On words, we dine.

Paper meal.
With seasoning.
To give appeal,
tart reasoning.

Nondescript,
most lives, we see --
until they're writ
in poetry.

You dedicate,
our lives, to rate.
