No elementary physics and trigonometry sensed.

No failures permitted.
No learning, by failing, permitted.
A Leggo world.

Erector sets, with nuts and screws?
Too advanced.
Pseudo-science and engineering, anyway.

A Leggo world.

We get, what we give our children.
It just takes time.
About sixteen years. . .

Until another presidential election,
and,
another round of protective tariffs.

a correction.

Plague.

Its end --
after the human population
was reduced to one-fourth
of its present size.

Will this come true?

Having read David Quammen's book, "The Tangled Tree", I was, at first, inclined to accept the view of
an individual as a genetic "mosaic". Further thought had me wondering if the concept of individuality
is actually, more secure. Perhaps, it's how we define "individuality".

Your thoughts are as good as mine, certainly, if not better. Enjoy his book, and come to your own
conclusion!

Mosaics, we are,
yet, each one, unique.

Horizontal Gene Transfer --
yields complexity's peak.

Individuality secure,
no two are the same.

Bacteria and viruses,
all barriers, , they gain.

Species defined,
on Darwin's old tree,

as waterfall's elements
imply uniformity.

Yet, all of us change,
like the city of Lynn --

We do not come out,
the way we go in.

Breaking, with almost a continuous roar,
the waves endlessly assault the defenseless sand.
The shore reeds' grip
suggests that perhaps
another summer will reveal
a similar scene.

It's participants seem to say --
look at us;
we know about life's cycles . . .
and adjust, for them.

Some of us survive,
some thrive,
some die.

That's life, for us.

Should it be any different,
for you?

Sandman (starship 8, section B)

My Happy is so far away,
Oh where can I find him?

My Happy used to stroll at beaches
Where his pirate ship would have sailed to.

He's still not to be found..
He might be hiding in that grain of sand,
Or he might have become sand.

And on his way to meeting the sandman,
For some advice on the best way to wear a sand costume,
He found the poet, writing another note..

Not to me!!

The ship horned and the pirate had to go back.
He wove at the sandman but the sandman
Had returned to sand again.

Oi Captain, we must avoid those sandbanks!

Hard starboard, sailor!

The sandbanks are from the sandman,
No worries there my sailor.
Carry her on through then, Captain.
